Hi,

i’m having an odd issue on my 2025 Macan 4S.

I came back from a little over a week vacation. The car parked outside the whole time with temps in the teens and a couple 0F days.

Anyways, I came back and that’s when I noticed this issue… I charge the car up to 80% like usual and I only was seeing about 82 or 83 miles of range. Very abnormal because in similar temperatures I have seen about 180-200 miles of range.

I drove the car a little bit and the range went down as normal and so did the state of charge.
What could be going on here? The range number is way off from what it should be.

i’m gonna try charging the car up to 100% to see what happens but so far it’s still abnormal… see screenshot below.

Interesting. I also just noticed this on my 2025 Macan 4S. Not as severe as what you’re seeing, but I’d typically see around 240 miles of range at 80%. Now I’m only seeing 199 miles at 80%. I’m in California and while it’s been cold, it’s definitely not freezing. Not sure what’s going on.

After a 22 mile drive today, mine is reporting ZERO miles left with the battery still at 10%

Its 5C with the battery pack at 7C.

Hey, so in this sense you don’t think there is physically something wrong with the car. Rather need to recalibrate the readings by discharge, driving and charging?

They don’t call it a guess-o-meter for nothing!

I would hope if there was something actually wrong the car would alert you to book a service, but it isn’t out of the question that there might be a silent issue. I’d just drive it a bit more and keep an eye on it. The estimator can be finicky when there’s little data or conditions are irregular.

Yes and the car was sitting about 11 days in freezing temps.

Have you had the latest software update? While the "fix" to rebalance is about the same, the update should significantly reduce the chances of it happening again. It does seem like a week of leaving the car unused is the most common trigger for this happening.

And you should separate any responses about range being a guess - while that is true across all cars, your car clearly has a different issue of the two sides of the 800V architecture being out of synch, and won't just go away with normal use and the range calc updating.

Today after driving seems better. Shows 143 miles of range at 80% charge. It went down normally from 83% state of charge before driving.
Still a little off, but better.

Keep in mind that battery efficiency drops dramatically when the battery is cold. I have been getting 280+ miles in the winter when the battery is warm - even in cold conditions. However, I left the car unplugged overnight and temps were around 0F - range dropped to about 150 - 180 (my guess) but when I hit 30% charge, range started to tank and by 20% I was losing 1% SoC per mile driven on flat highway. By 15% SoC I received a warning that there was almost no energy left in the battery.

Don't know if such a behavior could indicate some kind of feature problem with the car but at this stage I really don't think there's indeed something wrong with it.The system must somehow "remember" its battery capacity boundaries. It reminds me of when a window looses its memory and stop moving prior reaching the lowest or highest point in the door frame.By pressing and keep pressed the window button at both the extreme ends of the movement the system "re-learns" where to stop correctly.
In a similar logic (although not so oversimplified) same counts here too.Procedure is drain as much as possible down to 1-2% SoC.Leave it there for several hours until no additional values appear. When finally stabilized leave it alone for at least 13 hours,24 would be best I believe.AC charge it slowly up to 100% (max 11kW charging speed). After 100% is reached unplug it for a while and plug it again, however don't use the app or the charging screen in the car because it might not initiate the charging process as it will "think" it's already fully charged.Try using a public charger instead and initiate the charge directly from the charger provider app or by using an RFID card for the charger.Monitor how much energy you will get. After fully charged the 100% will be the real one and the range will be more realistic but you have one more think to do.Leave the car at its real 100% for at least another 13 hours,24 will be better once again. After this you'll be good to go and enjoy again your "stolen" range and take advantage of your vanished kWh!!

I had exactly the same thing this week. Temperature around 4 degrees for journey home from work. I just hoped the 10% correct and not the range as approached home!!

So I noticed something I didn’t with my previous Etron GT.

the range left right before I closed my door and locked it said 140 miles left.
After I locked the door I see in the app and in the car the same State of charge when I left the car (77%) BUT…. 165 miles of range…..

is this normal??

Miles of range indicator & system get their data from SoC system and kWh/100Km average consumption so it wouldn't be strange to see it changing after a while. Most likely the car systems did some recalculations when you left it and gave you an "updated" indication. Most likely the data the systems used last were based on a more relaxed driving where you "burned" less energy than what the car anticipated to consume for the given distance so it did the new math and the range went up.It's pretty normal and expected reaction from the systems I think. The % flactuations is the one which must bother us most, it's like a fuel gauge indicator moving back and forth all the time.
