Has anyone heard any updates regarding the above?? My sales guy told me last week that today, which has 3 hours left, would be when we get a communication announcing access to the US Tesla charger network and how to get the Macan adapter mailed to our home (for free).

Have not seen any communication yet…

Lucid was announced today. Still haven't seen anything on VW Group.

ROFL - Lucid Airs (most of them anyways) will be limited to 50 kW at superchargers because they didn't design he battery DC charging to accommodate high speed 400V chargers…

the gravity will have a higher limit - but Air's are going to be an anchor at the network - about as fast as a Chevy Bolt.

Yes, the Air's onboard voltage step-up was designed before Supercharger access was expected, thus doesn't handle much. Same with most earlier 800V+ EVs, like the Hyundais.

But that wasn't my point. Just that Lucid appears to have been next in line for SC access. For whatever bearing that may have on VW Group timing.

I used a Tesla charger over this past weekend. Porsche navigation directed me this Tesla charger location in Jackson, CA. I was skeptical it would work but since I needed to charge I proceeded to the charger. I arrived at the chargers and, using my Lectron adapter, plugged in my Macan hoping that Porsche had secretly been granted access to plug and charge; nothing happened. I then saw a gentleman with a KIA beginning to charge so I talked to him and he informed me that if I download the Tesla app I should be able to use the chargers. After downloading, logging in, and following the simple instructions I was able to charge at well over 100 KW. One question I have is, is this set of chargers special or am I now able to charge at any Tesla charger using the Tesla app? I will try charging at a Tesla charger near my home to try and answer this question.

PlugShare tells me that this is what Tesla calls an 'All EVs Supercharger', commonly called a MagicDock one.

On PlugShare you can tell this is open to all by seeing that this a NACS and CCS1 station, and these are the only Supercharges Porsche EVs can currently use.

There are not a lot of these around, so you got lucky.

That doesn’t sound right. If it’s a MagicDock Supercharger you don’t need an adapter.
But you might still be able to use your own. Been a while since I've used one so I can't remember the latest on how/when it locks to the MD adapter, but he must have stumbled across a sequence where it didn't try to lock to the MD first.

My state has 4 of them.

PlugShare comments are all about this having no CCS plugs because no-one knows how to unlock the ones that are actually there!

I have not been Porsche owner for very long, only a couple of months now, but I would be pleasantly shocked if the adapter is provided for free from Porsche. I am thinking more along the lines of: "more expensive than any other adapter on the market"... I hope to be surprised.

Yup, you’re right. According to Tesla that Supercharger is open to all EVs. The use of the Lectron adapter was not necessary.

Yes, those work on any CCS vehicle. I just couldn't remember how to lock/unlock the built-in MD adapter. I'd forgotten you hold the button for 2 seconds. If you don't do that, it just leaves the MD in the holster and lets you plug the NACS handle into your own adapter.
