I totally get that the setting works the way you described. But in Audi and VW, it's much easier to use when you need it — you just select either the driver’s or passenger’s side with the mirror switch, and the mirror tilts or not… simple as that

and to switch it off:

Permanently deactivating the parking aid

  • Drive mode set to R
  • Passenger-side mirror glass swiveled down
Press the adjustment button C to adjust the exterior mirror glass to normal position while in "R", save to personal settings.
This this does not work, it keeps swiveling down to a factory setting which I didn’t chose.

Apart from the fact that this means you should manually try to set the mirror EXACTLY the way you did it for driving forward…

Funny thing was I tried doing this on my own once and it didn't work. It wasn't really a big deal so i just forgot about it. A few weeks ago my car went in for the Software update. When i got my car back the passenger side mirrors now adjust downwards on reverse and back to normal position when I start driving. Not sure if it was the software that did it or a Porsche technician that adjusted so that they can move in and out of a tight spot. Either way it works now for me 😅

Maybe because the screen showed by @W1NGE it's not the Macan one... and there's no option to turn on or off for this feature...
It appears on the Cayenne, Taycan, 911 etc so reasonable to expect it to appear on the Macan EV if optioned on the car. It appears on my Macan T as part of the Driver's memory pack.

On further investigation it does seem to be the case that there is no menu setting by design and the only way to disable is to engage R and to reposition the mirror to the normal driving position (!!). This is pretty lame.

@W1NGE Since it appears on other models it doesn't have to be necessarily on the Macan (and it isn't) and what you posted (now) has been posted by other before in this thread.
There's no option for tilting the side mirror and there's no on/off switch to activate or deactivate the features. Let me repeat myself (since it's not the first time you add a comment with screenshot or commands or options that are on other models BUT not on the Macan EV): even if Porsche put something on the previous models it doesn't mean it has to be on the Macan EV. We have manual and PCM simulator to evaluate functions and so on.
