I installed the Pollak 11-893P RV 7-Way Socket (Oem Style) no problem.

Simply connected the CURT 57004, then installed by bike rack in the receiver and put the car in reverse: beeping like if nothing was plugged.

I then tried with the POLLAK (12716 7-Way to 4-Way Adapter instead and same result: beeping like crazy.

Has anyone here successfully gotten the beeping to stop when a bike rack is installed in the back, using either one of these? Anything I need to do in the PCM?
I wasn’t planning to ride today but decided to put on my Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack to test out the functionality of the Curt 57004 adapter. The sensors beeped briefly in reverse, then the Macan went into trailer mode (indicated by an alert that trailer mode was engaged and assistance systems would be limited) after which I no longer got any beeps.

The Curt adapter is designed to override the sensors whereas the Pollak 4-way adapter is not. Not sure why it didn’t work for you since I didn’t adjust any PCM settings.

Are you sure something else is not setting alarms off? I still get alarms when backing out of the garage, but they stop once I clear the doors.

Thank you both @bbmertz and @ColdCase for replying (and going on a drive to confirm too!) - I tested again today and the CURT one worked this time.

I imagine I maybe didn’t push it deep enough and that prevented the connections from working. As soon as the CURT was in this time, the rear alerts were gone, only the front ones were still active.

Comparing the two, the CURT has the pin in the center whereas the POLLAK doesn’t.

I ordered a few more POLLAK plugs (with the middle pin) to compare with the CURT, we’ll see how it goes. Worst case, the CURT will be it!

The center pin is for reverse lights. The Curt contains resistors to load the circuits. Dunno what your Pollack contains. The spring loaded socket cover has a clip that, when the plug is inserted far enough, snaps into the plug slot and keeps it from falling out. If the plug is inserted properly, you have to lift the cover to release the plug, The so called 7 blade RV signal assignments are the same, wire color can differ.
