I'm very aware of this problem and have had both ports open during a no-touch car wash - lately I've been leaving the Macan in "D" (drive) and simply using brake-hold during the car wash - so far so good…

I'd prefer to see a fix from Porsche on this - but so far the leave it in gear and brake-hold is functioning as a work around.

I feel like for lighter colors the car wash is not as big of a deal.

i had a pearl white metallic Tesla model 3 and I hand washed it bc of all the fud about swirls… until one day I had an epiphany and was like “dude, why are you handwashing a 30k car…?” (That was before the ev market tanked lol, now it’s like $15k 😆)

i didn’t have any touchless car washes around me so i started going to one of those mop style car washes for $15. Did that for like 5 yrs and my paint looked shiny and fine when I traded it in for my macan.

this might be sacrilegious to say but I think I’ll probably do the same for my ice grey macan once I get bored of handwashing it. Right now it’s still fun to hand wash cause I like to admire the curves but I imagine the novelty will eventually wear off 🫣

Your method works, however, using neutral (N) is safer.

I raise the spoiler, select Off Road (Level II), check for neutral, recirculate inside air, and hold the brake firmly. Works well every time with a modern touchless car wash.

I can imagine that.
But perhaps it's just in the UK that there are a lot of hand car wash places all over. I just get car wash done there. The outer hand wash cost about £15-20, and to clean inside out £25 to £35, depending on the size of your car/SUV.
I just cannot imagine putting my car through those boulders and bristles of brushes :)
