Who are the former Taycan owners who switched to the Macan EV?

Are you still happy with your decision to switch?

Any regrets or things the Macan EV doesn't deliver that the Taycan did? (ride quality, handling performance, creature comforts, build quality, etc)

I'd like to know your thoughts. I've had my Taycan GTS for nearly 3 years now and absolutely love it. I just have the new car itch and at the top of my short list is the Macan EV and the new updated Taycan. I've driven a Macan 4S and loved it but there's only so much you can learn from a short test drive and certainly hard to really see any differences or shortcomings when compared to my existing Taycan with such a brief seat time. So please share your thoughts if you've lived the Macan EV for a while now after having owned a Taycan previously.

Had my 4S for 6 weeks now having had the Taycan for 3 years 40k miles.
They are very different cars to live with, although they both have similar short comings re Software and minor glitches.
I specced both very similar, air suspension, BOSE, 360 cameras, pan roofs, leather etc etc.
I personally think the Taycan is a better car to drive (sharper and more agile) and being brutal it also looks way better, with more presence than the Macan. However the Macan is more practical.
Tech wise, no real leap forward, although the battery seems to act differently re thermal management.
Depreciation seems to also be going the same way as the Taycan, with Discounts already available within 3 months of launch.
Please don’t get me wrong the Macan is a great car and i will keep it for at least 3 years, however the Taycan is a better car in my opinion.

I moved from a 2020 Taycan Turbo to 2024 Macan Turbo EV - I agree with the above quote.

Macan is more practical and has about the same interior volume/cargo as the Taycan - it's a great/fun SUV - but it's no Taycan

The Taycan is a better "car" - but worse as a daily - the Taycan is a "big" 911 and simply drive's better - that being said it's not as good a daily due to low seating position, entry/exit issues, and embarrassingly small cargo capacity (passengers/volume) given it's over all size.

Styling win goes clearly to the Taycan - but the wife and I get in/out of the Macan every day have no regrets - and vs. any _OTHER_ SUV we'd have for practicality the Macan EV is a huge win in terms of performance…

I moved to the Macan EV "eyes open" have no regrets, but the Taycan is a more advanced vehicle and driver's car - but less useful and simply big for daily duties.

Considering our needs/age, I'm no longer interested in low slung cars.
As David said above, knowing low seating position, entry/exit issues, is a problem for us too. Wife now loves the ease of getting in and out of Macan.

I waited for Macan a long time, and almost got a Fisker as I had paid a reservation fee on it. It does look beautiful TBH.
But when I heard Macan EV was coming out soon, I pulled out of Fisker and got the money back. Plus I had doubts about the company and a dodgy owner.

Thanks for your replies, Karl and daveo4EV. This is very helpful and confirms what I expect will happen when I make the switch. I will definitely miss the lower sportscar feel and sharpness of the Taycan. However, the added utility of a slightly larger rear trunk with hatch and overall higher ride height and increased ground clearance will likely be a worthwhile trade-off. I live and work in major city where I've had to pick and choose where I'd have to park and what garage ramps or entrances I can make or avoid, and even then I'd still manage to scrape and hit things with my front lip. I've already had to replace the Taycan's front lip after catching a drain cover at the bottom of a garage ramp and destroying it, which cost me $1800 in parts and labor to fix. I've always had to be extra careful when driving the Taycan around the city and it would be a welcome change to not worry about that as much with the Macan as a daily driver. I think would also enjoy having a glass roof that can actually slide open.

I do drive a 992 as my fair-weather daily so perhaps it might actually be a nice change to go with a Macan Turbo so that every time it does become 911 weather, getting back to driving that car will be an event to look forward to even more since it will a much different experience than 992 vs Taycan already is

If you can afford both, keep your Taycan and buy a Macan electric (4S or turbo if you are familiar with a Taycan). If you only want one, the Macan is a more universal choice.

If you can afford it and only want one, buy a 2025 Taycan with Active Ride (computer-controlled hydraulic rams instead of shock adsorbers). Active Ride jumps the car up to its highest setting as soon as you open a door. Active ride can also be set to be a track car or smoother than a Rolls Royce (according to Car & Driver).

I find the comments about a Taycan being a large car amusing. Width and wheelbase are nearly identical to the Macan electric (battery pack drives width), but the Taycan is 7" longer, 9" lower, and 500 lbs. lighter!
