scenario:

you're driving along 30-40 mph - you're a car person - so you love acceleration - you nail the throttle in sports plus mode - how does it "feel" in terms of getting you into the triple digits

fast car listed first - these are my personal "feelings/rankings" - YMMV - non scientific test
  • 2025 Taycan GT
  • 2025 Taycan TurboS
  • 2020 Taycan Turbo
  • 2018 Model 3 Performance
  • 2021 911 TurboS
  • 20xx Tayan GTS
  • 2024 Macan Turbo
  • 2022 Model Y Long Range
  • 2021 Cayenne TurboS eHybrid
  • 2023 911 GT3
  • 2018 911 GT3
  • Mazda Miata
  • 2020 Audi eTron SUV
the Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Saphire is some where in the top 5…

NOTE: this is a "rolling accelerator test" - not a from stop drag race - the Model 3 Peformance 40-90 mph number is faster than 911 TurboS according to car&driver…yes OMG.

again this is my feel …

the Macan is a let down from a Taycan Turbo anything - but that's a very very high bar - it's way way way way better than virutally _ANY_ gas SUV…

I'm not convinced the backup camera is better than the Taycan - if it is better it's not dramatically better so it's not better enough - even if I"m wrong I'm right. But it's good enough.

Plug & charge has now worked twice in a row - so this is good - but so far I've not gotten more than 157 kW charge rate, but I've also never been below 30% SOC so we'll see…

had a great charging session with ChargePoint - Plugshare lists them as 62 kW chargers - but they were 4 stalls but no one else - plugged in and we got 105 kW right away and over time crept up to 112 kW and then almost at exactly 80% SOC dropped back below 100 kW - but great charging session - 100 kW when you're expecting 62 is a treat!!

Forgive me if you have already answered this but did you spec innodrive on yours? And if so are you going to test it?

Thanks again for posting all of this

charging curve for a 125kw shared ChargePoint CCS1 charger - peak rate just shy of 114 kw at 80% soc then the drop!

hmmmm - 1st segment today - wanted an EVGo charger 248 miles - PCM Nav says "no way" - we're going to have to "short stop" at the 168 mile EA Walmart - I'm thinking a combination of factors - temps are 53F but also - speed limit in AR is 75 mph on Hwy 40

next stop is a lunch break…and probably a "full" charge - we were rocking 175 kW at a 150 kW EA station - this is common for 150 kW EA Stations - $0.00 charge cost again.

we've added 209 kWh so far since leaving PECATL

How's your early efficiency looking?
not what I would hope - but it's hard to measure - speed limits on HWY 40 in AR are 75 mph - and traffic is flowing @ more than that - so we're not going for distance - we had to stop at the last charge point above because we couldn't make it to the Flying-J EVgo travel stop in Oklahoma on 100% charge (248 miles total distance) - for which I'd estimate we were 3-7% lacking in battery - so 248 miles was "out of range" for my Macan Turbo this morning…but I'm going to attribute that mostly to speed limits being so high…

current segment is a "meal" stop and we're going to plug in at around 39% - eat - walk - and switch drivers (I'll be driving after lunch)

Macan is a very very very easy 230 mile EV @ 80 mph - I was hoping more for a 280 miles EV at 70 mph - so far that's hard to envision - but again - new car, temperatures, traffic flow speeds…

Thanks! It'll be interesting to see if that improves at all. It has seemed like the Macan is a bit under what I was also hoping for range.
