My 4S configuration is similar to yours with the same goal of staying just under $100K. Instead of the truffle leather, my indulgences were Bordeaux red seatbelts and matching red compass face to offset the black interior, illuminated aluminum door sills and massage seats. I too got the rear axle steering and was very tempted by the HUD but opted out to stay under my arbitrary budget.

I was supposed to take delivery 2 weeks ago but experienced delays at the port in Jacksonville so I expect to receive my 4S next week.
PLEASE let us know how the 4S is - I haven't read too many reviews!

Will do! Iā€™m very anxious to see how the off-the-line acceleration of the 4S compares with the 4 which I test drove last month and the Tesla model Y I previously owned.

The unexpected 2-3 week delay has been painful but I feel fortunate to be taking delivery of one of the early 4S shipments in the U.S.

Also interested in real world range, as I wanted the speed boost but didnā€™t want to give up range.

Yeah, Iā€™m definitely anxious about the range of the 4S since its EPA rating is no better than the Turbo and other turbo owners have been reporting weak real world results (albeit worsened by cold weather conditions).

When I speced my car, I considered AG, finally I took IG, and put the spared money on RAS.
My advice is if AG is THE color that only meets your needs, go for it, if not, maybe you should consider a less expensive color and put money on RAS which provides driving pleasure at each turn šŸ˜Š

I stuck with the original spec.

Though it was interesting seeing everyoneā€™s thoughts on it.

I think there is a rear wheel driving spec in my future.

I wouldn't make decisions based on EPA ranges if you consider either 4 or 4S. At least in European Configurator you can see vehicle-specific WTLP range estimate. The options you select impacts much more to the range, especially wheel size. I optimized the range of my 4S config using the vehicle-specific estimate, ended up with 588 km with my config PSADS7D6.
