I’ve had a 4S since December without a problem. But my approach to the question of EV vs ICE is that as much as I like my car it’s not the final solution. The technology and our needs will constantly be in flux. So I get what works for the next few years with anticipation of what will come next. I took a three year lease knowing that At the end of that time period I will be looking at a new improved mode of transportation.
more interesting, less pollution and more fun to drive.
embrace the changes

I am driving my Macan 4 since early November (so one of the 2024 MY). Among the initial (small) problem with the Plug & Charge, easily solved with a rest of the system, the only minor issue I have is that once in a while (I think 3 times so far) the PCM is temporarily showing some errors (I had the same problem with almost all my previous "modern" cars). Nothing to be really concerned about.
I am extremely happy so far.
I am sure that the vast majority of us is not experiencing particular problems.
Enjoy your new toy!

Your concerns are valid as far as Porsche support. I've had my Macan 4EV for two months and there are many quirks and bugs. The car is at a Porsche dealer's shop now because I had no cool A/C (I live in the NM desert. There is only one EV mechanic at the dealer, so there were 8 EVs in front of mine, three weeks wait for a loaner. (Glad I kept my hybrid Prius.) Curious about how long for parts. There should be conversations about what happens to the charging infrastructure. BTW, one year of free charging but only a handful of available EA chargers in my state has no value. This is the best-performing car I've ever driven and the frozen blue is beautiful as I configured. I am committed to EV and doing my small part to prevent climate change. But under the current administration, I probably wouldn't pick up the car if I had it to do over. Thank you for expressing your hesitation.
I had a no cool AC, no refrigerant from the factory apparently. Shouldn’t have passed dealership QC. Was a easy fix, they checked for leaks as well.

I love my Macan Turbo Electric. I had issues at first and some resolved on their own but none of it will make me trade it in for another ICE or Hybrid. Once you get your Macan Turbo, you'll understand. My next move will be the Cayenne Electric.

I took delivery of my Macan
I am still waiting for the delivery of my Turbo, should be at home soon.
while I can't wait to get it and enjoy the ride, I am also wondering if I did not make a big mistake by buying a Porsche ELECTRIC!
I don't really care about the depreciation, I am in a position where it will not affect my finances but I do care about the car quality/maturity, especially all these software bugs/glitches that nearly everyone on this forum has already experienced.
so when I read everywhere Porsche is reconsidering its EV strategy, I am worried they will not put the same effort to fix things now that they will have to spend time/money on new ICE car platforms...
it's going to be a year the Macan EV is on sale and 8 months it hit the road - no software update has been performed - OTA capability is still not available, there is absolutely no communication from Porsche HQ regarding when those software issues will be investigated and fixed.
Am I worrying for nothing ?

PS: Should we try to find the way a Porsche representative (not a local dealer) joins this forum ?
No, you did not make a big mistake buying a Porsche electric. I took delivery of my Macan 4 on September 30, over four months ago, and I absolutely love it. There really is no other car on the market that I'd rather have. There were a few problems with my car early on, but they have been resolved. Far from being the exception, I think my experience may be more the rule --- it's people with problems that tend to post. EV is the future, and each year a larger percentage of the market over the previous year is EV cars. I won't go back to ICE, and I bet that after you've had your car a while, you won't want to either.

Not worried. Porsche sells in Europe and European mandate requires no more ICE after 2035.
Also, as an example right now in France you have to pay a 90,000 EUR flat tax on all ICE Porsches because of CO2 emissions. That on top of the MSRP which already includes VAT. So there is no going back. This is more Porsche realizing that each market is not moving at the same speed towards a 0 ICE sales and must cater to that. Seems a temporary adjustment to me.

I have had a macan 4 since the end of November and despite a small problem with the windows, I am very satisfied so far. I don't think I will go back to an Ice vehicle, in fact I think I will also get a Bev for my wife. But I don't think it is feasible to electrify all vehicles... at least in Italy

She wants to go BEV as well

Pretty much all of the glitches I’ve read about or experienced myself (e.g. intermittently no sound from head unit) are software related. With the exception of those few unlucky souls who’ve had charging issues, very few problems thus far are attributable to hardware. The car just works like it should for the important functions.

As someone who has spent more than 4 decades in the software and computing industry, I can safely tell you that software will NEVER be perfect. It will, however, get better over time as more and more testing is done (some by us owners as beta testers), and problems get fixed. While these issues can be annoying, just be thankful we aren’t getting a new OS pushed every week with new “features” none of us want!

As one of the first Turbo EV owners, I can confidently say that I’m thrilled with it and absolutely love it. Sure, there were a few minor hiccups that come with owning a first-generation model, but they’ve all been sorted out. Just remember to approach it with an open mind, because there might be a few surprises along the way, but the overall experience is totally worth it.
Took delivery of my Turbo on September 23. My first EV. I have had zero issues with my car other than the plug and charge reset. The few other problems I had were due to operator error. Love the Turbo so much I converted my lease to a purchase and got an extended warrantee. My first EV vs ICE experience has been so fantastic I have since purchased a Taycan and love that as well. I'll never buy an ICE again. My solar panels charge the Macan and Taycan from home and even on a cloudy day, rare for Southern California, my "net metering" catches up when the sun does shine so it costs me nothing. When the public charging infrastructure catches up to the exploding number of EV's I see here lately the market will completely take over. The EV's are just so much better.

After my Macan 4EV was in the El Paso, dealer's shop for a week, I am happy to report that the issues are resolved. They were more than helpful. I live in Las Cruces, NM, 45 minutes away and they did all they could to accommodate me and my new dream car, Porsche. Most issues were software-related, after several updates and a new A/C line because the original part leaked and wouldn't hold freon. That line, as it turns out is a known TI. I truly LOVE driving this car and have never experienced that FUN feeling of performance and luxury in any car. No regrets. I configured the Frozen Blue, with white oak, and sparkly paneling, (girl car) I am glad I remained patient and trusted the brand as I had been second-guessing all the issues for no reason.

Under the EV Mandate manufacturers pay £ 15,000 per car when the 25% criteria isn't reached. Porsche must know something is going to change for them to suggest they will be designing and building a new ICE Macan instead of discounting its EV’s. Stating the obvious, they ceased selling ICE Macans in Europe as the car didn’t comply with the cybersecurity rules so no way could they continue the model.

I found it puzzling that Porsche failed the cybersecurity rules and yet it appears Chinese cars comply - I’ve always thought that Chinese cars would have the Huawei components that were banned by the UK & US
