So I wanted to surprise my wife with a 4S but due to tariffs bought a base right before April 3. Had to take what I could, and it came with standard tires. It’s been delivered but long story short I’m out of town so I can’t see the actual tires. I really like the red calipers on my other vehicle and wanted them on this one… does enough of the caliper ‘show’ through the standard rims? Has anyone done this / willing to share a pic? Thanks.

you have 20's?
i'm not sure... a lot of the view is blocked..and may be even more because the Calipes on the 4 are smaller

No aesthetic mod is stupid if you want it and can afford it. I have done hundreds of mods on my 50+ vehicles. However I am a realist and expect anROI on the money on each one to approach ZERO. We therefore do mods solely or my and my wife’s happiness (or for the car’s protection, e.g., PPF). If we want it and budget is not an issue, we do it.

Thanks. I mean from a visibility point of view. If anyone has opinions if much will be visible.

Depends a lot on the wheels for IMO some wheels block 90% of the calipers 90% of the time while others have a pretty good view of them. Which wheels did you get?

Ordered my 4S on Friday. No tariff issues. Granted, he said there could be but he’d honor the price or I don’t have to take it once it arrives.

Also, paint them! It’s fun and it’s not like you’re putting a Turbo badge on it. I’ve thought about painting mine yellow but will probably not. Just think the yellow looks good with the Slate Grey Neo.

the real deal would be seeing if you can fit the S brakes the 4. They are pretty big!! i'm wondering if anything bigger will become available. But honestly, they also look really complex

the standard 20" wheels block most of the view.

I have the 4S with the Macan S 20" wheels. I didn't realize quite how much of the brake calipers are hidden by this, but I still would have paid for the black calipers to match our blue/black color scheme. A flash of red would not have worked as well.

I recently paid for this treatment on a different car and was surprised it was only $1000 at a known 'expensive' shop. I'd have done that many years ago if I'd known!

So, go for it!

It's not stupid at all and it was something I was thinking to do too BUT after seeing in person how the wheels (I have 21" for summer and 20" for winter) hide the calipers I changed my mine.

Thanks all! This is why I love this group. Probably won’t paint due to the obscurations. If I could have picked my wheels it would be different. I guess this is part of making America great again, eh?

I’ve found that most of my experience of a car happens inside it - how it looks and feels and drives while in the driver seat. So I’ve spent all my option money on my 4 adding to the driving experience (eg all wheel steering) or the luxury of the inside (eg extended leather). I spent none on the outside options. I ended up with a pretty expensive car but have no regrets
