Finally, my Turbo is ready for pick-up, after 5 weeks of endless attempts to update its software, and many changed electronic parts.
Do you think I should take it or cancel it?
I don’t think: I think (hope) that Porsche is already able to update the PCM via OTA: ux/ui, multimedia features, maps etc.
But I think it will be some time before Porsche is in a position to update on-board electronics via OTA, where there will certainly be updating needs (safety reasons...
4 weeks and still counting to update my new Macan.
Total lost of confidence in my specific Macan Turbo: with no OTA (for electronic hardware) what will be the future in case of the need of a new software update? One month stucked at the dealership?
Frankly, I’ve never seen such a mess…
No problem @Diego !
Here, data are the exact opposite, and my dealership is going mad with its 10 (at least) macans. Its batch is full of problematic Macans, and mine is even not the worst!
I will cancel this week, but I can’t really accept that because I was so happy to have a macan ev, and so...
You are assuming that problematic cars are the minority.
From what I’ve been told, cars that are able to be delivered without lengthy software updates are the minority.
The pain in the ass is for the dealership, because Porsche made the decision to deliver a car with known issues, and obviously...
lol….
Porsche starts to be in a hurry the day after the deadline date stated on the purchase order.
One month after, they will start considering that there is a problem, and maybe they will provide you with something (a loaner).
Before that, it depends on you SA, but don’t forget they’ve already...
Just read this part of one of the latest recall for MacanEV and you understand that Macan is not IRL OTA capable, and worse, dealership can only have one Porsche usb memory to do the updates… So if they have 2 Macan, they can’t do the job on both at the same time…
Amazing, disturbing… stupid...
Whatever the explanation, in real life Porsche is unable to OTA update any Macan EV at the moment....
It's a fact.
Having so many brand new cars with unknown problems that require specific investigations is well … a total failure (Q6 is no different)
On motor-talk.de, at least two owners have their Q6 stucked at the dealership for 2 months. They took delivery, and 1/2 weeks after, problems appeared…
Someone who says he knows someone at Cariad (I know the man who knows another who…) that basically describes a panic mode related to software...
Why the hell does the porsche factory send “must be updated” cars?
In the meantime, PCM Android kernel is 4 months old (a shame…) and is not the piece of hardware that must be updated. Too bad, it’s obviously the easiest part to update… (but they don’t, old is better within Porsche, and I...
Actually, that’s a big difference, almost twice as much… (even though your hear/brain doesn’t interpret things like this: you need +10db to get the sensation of twice as much noise.)
Not depending on the SA, is the ability of Porsche to communicate details to the SA.
Porsche doesn’t communicate details to SAs, they just try to solve issues by giving orders without explanation (do that, change this part, try again, give us logs, wait 2+ days until I will give you new...
As I understand it, this version is just related to the PCM…
Is there a way to have the firmware version related to electronic modules of the E3 electronic architecture?
IMO, the software installation issues are related to that, not to the PCM.
That’s the problem, dealership has the strongest incentive (be paid 140ke…) to solve issues and to deliver the car, and yet, they seem to do nothing useful and they don’t disclose details (details about nothing are nothing, I’m aware of that).
What will be the future, in the case of a similar...
Frankly, it scares me: how do you think future updates will be carried out? Is Porsche will be able in a matter of months to improve the way they update firmwares?
I know that several cayennes hybrid were stucked at the dealership for weeks and even months to handle software updates.
By the...
