Has anyone been successful in finding out from Porsche a timeline for when the promised software to replace 0449 will be available for those of us who had to revert to 0346? I called Porsche yesterday and reminded them it has been 2 months since they issued Technical Bulletin 2604-1 that stated that the new software was in development. After half an hour I still couldn't reach anyone who knew what I was talking about.

The service manager at my dealership indicated that it was "coming very soon".

This was 3 weeks ago when they gave me a loaner and took possesion of my Macan to start the fix.

They aren't done yet.

Crickets :)
I have a service call booked for some work related to the PCM at the end of June. a few days ago, they had the car plugged into their tool; and they scanned for new software, and there was none as of a few days ago. They also said "soon" and best I got was maybe by the end of June if you squinted and read between the lines in body language - the sense I got was my service call was partially booked end of June for this purpose so they could get software for OBC done too. But no one is confirming, just feels like 'strong hints' right now.

There appears to be an on board charger update, but only for MY26+ cars;
MC-11033642-0001.pdf

Maybe it means MY25- will be available soon ?

@Flying4Fun, if you go back to my post, this was the roll back “update” that they performed on my MY25 Macan 4S so that it could finally charge at home. It applies to all years. There hasn’t been a new overall software update yet.

Maybe I misunderstood something; but your post is from Feb of 2026, this document is from May 26, 2026.

It seems to (yes) talk about the downgrade as you have, and others have discussed.

My assertion is that because for model year 26 and newer, there is an available version that will upgrade the problem firmware of 0449 to a new model year 26 version of 0452

The document references for model year 25 and older, that version 0449 needs to be downgraded to 0346

If I understand correct (and its possible I don't) - the firmware with the problems is 0449, on MY2024 & MY2025 they downgrade to 0346 to allow for at home charging. But for MY2026, they get an upgrade from 0449 to 0452. My assertion is that because a newer version of the at issue firmware for MY2024 and MY2025 exists, it *may be possible that after some testing, the 0452 firmware (or a slightly newer version) will become available for MY2024 and MY2025, that includes all the other changes in 0449 and also allows for at home charging...

Hopefully that makes sense, I am open to be corrected, and I am making a good faith effort to be correct in firmware levels, and I am aware I am speculating that 0452 COULD be a viable fix to 0449 for MY2024 and MY2025 cars also....

The text that I point to for MY26 can be found on page 2, and for MY24 and MY25 supporting text is on page 3.

*Edited for grammar and spelling for clarity.

The post I was referring to was from May 15th for when my car was finally fixed.

From what I understand from speaking with the technicians at my local Porsche dealer, the MY26 software is different in many ways from MY24/25. I missed that part about the upgrade to Software 0452 for MY26. I hope you are right about our cars getting an update. But, with everything going on with Porsche's messed up software, I am not holding my breath. I have a feeling they are going to leave our cars behind.

I agree that the software has been troublesome. I'm headed back in at the end of the month (or close forgot the day right now). Where they thought they would change the PCM because I am having significant Radio multimedia issues. They later called to say they want to change the AMP first and see if that fixes it. (No real respect of the time we have to take to have these service calls done).

I am pretty happy I leased this car on a 3.5-year lease, lucky it had unlimited KM, as I am finding I am driving it tons. My current plan is not buying this car out (unless some massive stability is found before lease is up), as I wanted to give it to one of the kinds, the stability doesn't make that possible currently.

There are gremlins for sure, and I have had a fair many of them, at the same time, improvements have been realized and there is general forward progression on most matters.

I hope the MY24 and MY25 get the attention they need to become stable, as it's not a good look for Porsche if they don't. looking after buyers is the only (good) way to get repeat business with a low customer acquisition cost. All other manners can be very expensive. I hope (and I am hopeful) they will do the right thing here, and secure a stable software build for these MY24/MY25 cars.

I'm sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation in China at the time. I am just getting around to checking my forum messages. My dealership is Kitchener Waterloo.

To my understanding, they call it an update. But I think it's an update released to revert back to it's previous working version. Perhaps the update only reverts backs certain modules that was changed with the December update.

I'm glad it worked for you. Apparently they can't seem to install the update on my vehicle. Gary tried twice earlier this morning and the car won't take it.

I certainly hope it's not the case. But I hope that all our problems has helped Porsche's engineers learn something, and so that they won't make the same mistake again. However, seeing how incapable they are at accountability and accepting fault, my guess is this could happen again. But as owners, we can band together to help put pressure on them. Even with all of us banding together and putting pressure on the dealerships, it still took them 4 months to get this resolved.
As for "banding togther" I specifically remember having to sign a document when I took delivery of my Macan 4 agreeing not to become part of a class action law suite... in hindsight I wish I didnt sign that. Here is my experience
Sorry for the delay. I don't check Reddit often.

I am actually still dealing with this... The Macan is currently back at the dealer for the 4th time. They see no issues and say it charges fine at their 110volt and level 2 charger. They are sticking to the claim that my home charger is causing the fault even though I already replaced the home charger with a brand new Charge Point level 2 charger. I also had issues charging at EV Go, Charge America and Tesla Stations. The problem is intermittent -- I get the "charging not possible" message about 3 out of 4 attempts. I drive around like a moron looking for a station that will charge. No rhyme or reason.

I am at my witts end... if anyone has any advice I would be very appreciative.
