I drove a Macan EV just to see if it’s something I’d want to seriously consider buying as we look for a first EV. I drove a 26 Turbo (only available car to drive) but the Macan in general seems to check a lot of boxes for me.

I’ve read a lot about buying 24/25 CPOs for other vehicles and had a few questions since I have always bought new.

1. If I’m looking at a low mileage (less than 10k) are the CPOs basically new? I’m assuming they are some kind of loaner or demo car since lease returns aren’t happening yet

2. My local dealer said they can’t acquire a CPO like they can a new vehicle. I thought dealers could but maybe Porsche doesn’t?

3. How easy is it to buy a Macan from an out of town dealer? Being in the upper Midwest limits the number of easily drivable centers, but I’ve also kicked around the idea of a fly and buy.

all the info on this forum has been really helpful so thanks to all those who contribute to help educate us newbies.

1. A 2024/2025 CPO vehicle may have anywhere from a few hundred miles up to 10s of thousands of miles and everything in between. CPO means Certifed Pre-Owned - so the vehicle will have to pass certain conditions regarding condition, maintenance, etc to earn that designation. They are generally nice vehicles but still require a degree of scrutiny and an attitude of "buyer beware" to make certain you don't make a big mistake. CarFax helps that but by no means is every accident or vehicle mishap declared in a CarFax report. Car might be a loaner / demo or could be a prior customers vehicle that was traded in. Happens all the time - people trade in vehicles they have owned for a month or less. The myriad of reasons why people trade vehicles is amazing...............

2. Not certain what you mean by a dealer "acquiring" a CPO. If you mean "dealer trade" that typically doesn't happen for used vehicles. I also think that Porsche dealers do far less dealer trading for vehicles because many vehicles are ordered by customers and allocations for many models are generally difficult to come by (especially since COVID - inventories are still small). One of if not the best way to find a CPO vehicle is to go on the Porsche website and use their search functions for vehicles (Menu - Shopping Tools - New and Used Inventory).

3. Acquiring vehicles from out of town dealers happens all the time - especially for vehicles like a Porsche where there are few dealers in certain parts of the country. I'm in eastern Iowa - until last summer Iowa didn't have a Porsche dealer for a long time - there is now a new and very good dealer in Des Moines. I bought a new Cayman in 2018 - that came from Florida. New Macan in 2019 - that came from Kansas City. New 911 Carrera in 2021 - that came from Oklahoma City. New Macan EV in 2025 - that came from Chicago. New 2026 911 Targa in late 2025 - that came from Des Moines. Easy to buy a new vehicle - you generally know what you are getting since new. CPO is a bit more of a "risk" but the nature of the vehicle being CPO helps protect you. You can always arrange for an independent pre-purchase inspection to occur.

Good luck!

It was superbly easy for us to buy our CPO Macan EV from out of state (in fact from a dealer literally diagonally across the entire country).

CPO’s come with remaining regular Porschewarranty from date first in service plus four years, so our 2024 CPO now has the full Porsche warranty until August 5, 2030 (not a typo).

use porsche finder (link above) to find your best fit Macan EV…from any dealer nationwide - you can pick up there and road trip home - or have them ship it

for new Cars I high recommend Porsche Experience Center Atlanta or Los Angeles delivery experience - you'll have a _GREAT_ time picking up your new car!! so honestly it doesn't matter where you purchase the vehicle!

lots and lots and lots of Macan EV's for sale nationwide - buy it from where ever you need to

miles don't matter as much with an EV since their is not a lot of wear/tear on mechanical items

CPO is great if you can find it - 6 years/unlimited miles from date of first in-service "day"…

Macan EV should be pretty easy to come accross - it's not a GT3 or TurboS

recommend the following:
  • find a local dealer that doesn't rub you the wrong way
  • you should be able to "order" a Macan EV for MSRP or slightly better
  • mid 2026 you're already a bit late - orders typically have a 6+ month lead time if you want a factory production slot - but YMMV
    • my guess would be _IF_ you ordered today you would be looking at delivery in Oct/Nov of 2026
  • specify Porsche Experience Center Atlanta or Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles delivery location for a truly stunning experience
  • My dealer Stevens Creek Porsche - ask for Mariah and tell her David referred you
  • if you can't find a production slot with your first choice dealer call around - San Francisco Porsche would be my next stop, then Monterey, then the other bay area Porsche dealers
  • with an experience center delivery - it doesn't matter which dealer you order from for delivery - I have a friend in Oregon that ordered his Taycan from a dealer in Florida for delviery at PECLAX
NOTE: Porsche's production cycle for any given year-model vehicle is about Sept to July - product closed/reduced for August - so Model Year 26 Macan EV's started in Sept. 2025 and will most likley end in July of 2026 - Sept of 26 will start production of model year 2027 vehicles - any changes anticipated/rumored will therefore be part of production starging in Sept/Oct. of 2026 - but they just refreshed the Macan EV's for 2026 (new trim level GTS and digital key, etc…) - so I would guess/speculate no changes for MY'2027 - and the next opportunity for refresh will be MY'2028 Macan EV - any base price and options changes also tend to happen the Sept - Oct. calendar time frame for the upcoming Model year

I would also consult porsche finder - it will allow you to search nation wide for all Macan EV's for sale - and I would not shy away from a new, nearly new or CPO Macan EV's that is already built and nearly your ideal build vs. waiting for or finding a build slot…also sufficiently motivated dealers may help you buy out your lease on your existing car in order to get you closed into a car they need to sell that's in stock ;-)
  1. play with the configurator so you're aware of options and their costs
  2. find a dealer
  3. check porsche finder nationwide looking for cars - rinse lather and repeat, inventory is always changing
  4. be aware of the production cycle (sept - july) for each model year
  5. negotiate, negotiate, negotiate
  6. don't be afraid of a CPO vehicle - it's actually better than a new car with 6 year unlimited milage warranty
  7. hold out for a personal order if you must - but you'll have less negotiating power
  8. do you want a MY"2026 or MY'2027 vehicle if you're taking delivery Oct. or later?
  9. don't shy away from CPO 2025/2026 vehicles with low milage
  10. have a set of "must have options" and a set of "would be nice options" - don't compromise on the "must haves"
  11. have your trim level in mind - properly optioned the Macan 4 EV is nearly as good as the Turbo - read my review here - https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/...v-owned.24721/ - the ONLY difference in power level between trims is inlaunch control - and from a dead stop - once rolling 4S/GTS/Turbo are pretty equal in terms of "feel" for any street legal driving scenaior
  12. if I was in your shoes I would be scouring porsche finder for a 4S, GTS, or Turbo with the correct options mix vs. power…and a CPO model optioned to 90% of my liking at a nice discount would carry the day for me and you'll get a great deal!!
according to my local dealer Macan EV's can't be sold east of the rockies - no one wants them - but they are hot hot hot west of the rockies (more informed west coast people) - therefore any dealership east of the rockies might be more motivated to provide you with a Macan EV given lower demand in their region.

also don't sweat the location - you can get teh car delivered to you from anywhere in North America for $1500 or less normally - and even that can be negotiated with a sufficiently motivated dealer…

good luck

Thanks - this is all super helpful. I’ve seen a handful of possible options doing a nationwide search.

CPO is how I’ll go if we buy one. Lots of options with under 10k miles out there. Dave, I did see that post so I’m looking at some pretty optioned out 4s. That will serve my needs.

I bought my CPO Macan EV from Porsche West Broward for more than $20,.000 BELOW MSRP.They have a 4S now that is $89,995 with an MSRP of $110,000+, with 3,964 miles. If this interests you I would suggest you call my superlative Salesperson there, Jessica Brennan. At my request she did a very slow motion video walk around the car, and when it arrived (had it shipped to me cross country), it was exactly as she and the video represented.

There whole team was excellent, including their Finance Department. Totally honest; not one game nor exaggeration ever.

Here’s the window sticker on it. I hope this works as well for you as my purchase of my EV Turbo CPO did for me. Good luck.
