now i feel good about not waiting for the Taycan facelift. only thing that would really disappoint me would be significant range increase. The 310 miles 500 km WLTP range new Macan providing is essentially the same as the taycan right now.

100kWh battery, for 310 miles WLTP (which is like 260 miles EPA?), is hardly impressive, far from it.

It remains unclear whether or not the recent updates concerning the Cayenne, Panamera Gen 3 and now Macan EV will come to the Taycan before the facelift.

I would say yes (PCM 6.2 update is expected on first quarter 2024 according some insider Porsche dealer sources) with one exception : the ability to watch movies on the passenger display during driving a our screen is not equiped with polarization feature.

As a side note, I also read this update will bring much faster route calculation from Cloud and Porsche may extend the Porsche Connect features free for 10 years instead of 3. Stay tuned.

The new PCM runs Android Automotive under the hood and has new hardware. I have my doubts this will come 1:1 to the Taycan as an update. I fear that there won't be any more substantial updates for the current Taycan coming

The Taycan facelift will likely get the same PCM hardware and software as the Macan EV will get.

PCM7 might but not until years. Agreement with Google is only a couple of weeks old.

I don't understand why it took 5 years for Porsche to develop the Macan EV with very similar Taycan tech. Maybe I'm wrong I don't see what's new in the PPE platform aside of bigger battery.

Seeing the new Cayenne, Panamera and now Macan makes me want to get a Taycan even more. It's clearly the future in terms of infotainment, interior, technology, etc. As somewhat of a geek myself I really like having the latest and greatest software on everything

That is what it is stated. But not sure the present PCM runs on Android. Thought that was a home cooked one.
