Anyone missing paddle shifters?

Hi All,

Had a drive in a Cayenne ICE with paddle shifters, lovely ICE engine sound and the blip when you downshift, also found the paddle shifters for that extra bit of fun and involvement when you are in the mood and the twisty roads open up.

Sport model handles great on our Macan EV, but anyone missing not having any gears and paddle shifters on their Macan?

The e-tron had them and it adjusted regen strength, felt similar to engine braking. Seems like something Porsche should have considered, though I’m not sure if the newer PPE e-tron still has that.

Did not really care for it on 2018 Macan S...but absolutely love the DCT on my M3

New PPE e-tron has regen paddles and a slightly improved implementation. I enjoyed them on my original e-tron 55, missed them on my Taycan CT4, and am enjoying them again on my SQ6. I use the paddles pretty much every time I drive. On the other hand "B" mode isn't my thing. Nice that they are both there and the customer can decide.

Frankly, I don’t miss them at all. I had them on my BMW convertible and rarely used them. I would rather drive a manual car with a clutch.

when I find myself missing them I get in my GT3 - problem solved - the rest of the time I love the smooth power of the Macan turbo.

Can't really compare the function of ICE paddles and EV paddles. The Sport Plus mode in Taycan added fixed regen off throttle. I wonder if that was to simulate engine drag during sporty driving? Seemed an appropriate addition. Why not make that available full time and variable via a paddle?

Because right or wrong, Porsche has decided that its driving and handling experience does not include any version of one-pedal driving, and so there is no need for variable regen mapping.

Got used to it after 3 years with a Taycan! Would be good to have if only something to fiddle with but pretty unnecessary on an EV.

Nah, we've had them on some of our other vehicles and I've never enjoyed using them.
