Bridgestone Tyres - ENLITEN ?

My dealer has just told me my car has Bridgestone Potenza's. Does anybody else in the UK have these tyres and are they Sport ENLITEN ? The Bridgestone UK website doesn't list Sport tyres as being ENLITEN but tyre dealers do offer them in the sizes for a 4S. I ask as Bridgestone also say that the Potenenza Sport EV tyres have been specifically designed for the Macan EV and provide better range and are quieter than standard tyres. Whilst it states these tyres are fitted to Macan EV's now, the announcement is dated 6th Feb so may only apply from now - Bridgestone, a global leader in premium tyres and sustainable mobility solutions, has been chosen by Porsche to develop bespoke tyres for its new Macan Electric and Panamera models. Both vehicles are now available with custom-engineered Bridgestone Potenza Sport ultra-high-performance tyres.

If you have Potenza's, with our without ENLITEN are they unduly noisy ?

The designation ENLITEN says nothing to me, but I also had Bridgestones on my 4 and I exchanged them for Goodyear before I had driven 200 kilometers on it. See my thread and the values below that Porsche specifies about the tires. Bridgestone is not coming out of it well.

If ENLITEN means they have seen the light, then I would like to see the proof in the tyre labels.

These tyre labels on the configurator is mandatory so Porsche has to show these differences. I looked them up and saw them confirmed by several tire tests for SUV summer tyres.

The table shows consecutively for 21” rims 255/45 - 295/40: front dry - rear dry | front wet - rear wet | dB front - dB rear

Conclusion: Goodyear is the best choice. Bridgestone and Pirelli are the worst.

I can confirm that my Bridgestones are stiffer than I was used to from the Michelins. Tests show that the Bridgestones have a higher rolling resistance. I swapped them, Goodyears are indeed better.

Bennie - thanks. I saw your table previously and that's why I asked the dealers which tyres were on my car. My query is if recently built cars have the updated Potenza Sport ENLITEN as per the Bridgestone announcement or were the 'old' version of the Sport's being fitted. I have ordered the noise insulated glass to reduce tyre noise but if the noisiest tyres are fitted then it will be a waste of money !

Good point Bob. I think the deciding factor is whether the new tyre has a better label than the previous one. Especially with your extra investment in insulated glass, your dealer should look for the new values through Porsche. If there are any...

Bennie - I don't see any changes on the European Product Registry For Energy Labelling website. This site lists all the tyres with their labels. I found the easiest way to filter was to use the manufacturer and then insert the tyre size as free text in the 'advanced' filter - forgive me if you have already used this website. I think I'll just have to wait until when I collect my car on the 1st March and be grateful noise wise I haven't got the Michelins.

The Michelins are indeed not doing well in terms road noise. In the worst case, you will have to put other tires on it, just like I did. It cost me €1550 with a discount from Porsche...

The tire lottery that Porsche uses is extremely irritating, to say the least. You can choose any option, but for your tires you are at the mercy of them. I understood that 90 percent of the Macans are delivered with Bridgestones. Then you start to think that they were able to make the best deal for them here...

Mine arrived at the dealership and it's in Bridgestone. Rolling noise does not pass only through the glass.

I'm happy for you Bruno, but that's not my experience. I know where I would rather spend my money, especially after buying a new car, than on other tires…

My dealer just confirmed my car does have the updated Bridgestone Potenza Sport ENLITEN - the tyre developed specifically for the Macan EV. I’ll let you know how I find them.
