I understand the backseat on the Macans are not spacious so I'm wondering how much of an issue it is to fit rear facing convertible car seats back there? Some car seats are bigger than others, has anyone run into an issue of not being able to install one due to space limitations without sacrificing too much space on the front passenger seat?

Can't comment exactly how it is with the EV (still waiting delivery), but can comment on my own experience with a 2019 ICE Macan (the facelift). It should match fairly close as the EV seems to have a very familiar backseat to me. If anything the EV has a bit more space available compared to my past experience.
Never had an issue with the baby seat for my daughter, including in rear facing configuration. We used to have a Cybex Sirona seat that is not exactly a small model. Never had a problem of front passenger space due to that. I'm not that tall (1.75m) so it may differ if you have rather tall passengers in the front seat, but that's the best feedback I can give.
Note the seat we used is one that can turn, which made it very easy to get the baby in and out. Absolutely no clue how it would be with a non-rotating one. Would have been probably a bit more challenging I think.

Hope this helps.

This is very helpful. I am planning to get the Cybex Callisto G 360, which seems to be slightly bigger eyeballing it (as the dimensions on the Sirona include the load leg for the length).

we have a Evenflo 360 behind the passenger seat. I am 6' tall and can sit in the passenger seat for short drives but wouldn’t want to on anything longer than an hour. Knees too close to the dash for my liking. My wife is 5'7" and can sit in the front reasonably comfortably but can't stretch out her legs. That being said, I would not describe it as spacious by any means with a rear facing car seat. it will be nice once we flip our little guy front facing.

Use the Uppababy Aria, in the middle of the backseat, and no problem.
Was concerned that the hard shell of the front seats combined with comfort access (seats moving back) would make it a pain, but totally manageable!

And of course, don't forget to add this in the back!
