I’ve been having problems with CarPlay since not long after getting my car two weeks ago today. It would work for a couple of drive cycles and then refuse to connect. My phone is a iPhone 15 Pro with the latest iOS.

I tried toggling Bluetooth and WiFi off & on, forgetting the device in the car and the car in the phone, resetting the PCM, restarting the phone, using a fixed MAC address when connecting to the car’s hotspot, and everything else I could think of. I even tried using wired CarPlay without luck. I also saw that another owner had CarPlay problems and would switch to a different profile and back to get CarPlay to connect again.

I tried switching profiles to Guest and back, and sometimes that worked, but other times it didn’t. What was strange is that CarPlay would consistently connect in the Guest profile, but often fail when I switched back to my own profile.

I finally got tired of recreating my CarPlay customizations (the apps that appear and their order) every other day and decided to delete my car profile, and re-create it. I lost all the settings for the car and had to recreate those, but I’m happy to report that CarPlay has been working as expected ever since.

Mine sometimes won't initially connect, but after a minute or two it reconnects. The same thing has been happening in my mini since the last iOS update.

I have found, if you are using it wirelessly, that other devices that may also use Wifi (dashcam, radar detector, whatever) would interfere with the signal from the car to connect with my phone. Using it wired or disabling the WiFi on as many of the other devices as I could fixed it.

The other fix I read about on this forum was not connecting the car to your home WiFi. I’m curious if yours was?

Driving to work in silence is lonely. :crying:

Have you tried restarting your phone? It helped me.

Yes I did that a couple times. Also restarted PCM. I also brought it in to the dealer and they’re at a loss. Service dept wasn’t very knowledgeable about the car to begin with.

nerv, those were my exact symptoms. Deleting my profile and recreating it solved the issue for me.
Haven’t tried this yet but do you mean the profile on PCM or car profile on the phone’s Bluetooth?

One other thing that may not be obvious is that in the PCM Device Manager, do not enable the first two icons (phone and music player), only enable the third icon (CarPlay).

CarPlay includes support for making calls and playing music, and if you enable the first two icons, you are setting up the phone as a regular (non-CarPlay) Bluetooth connection.
