I hadn't yet done it. Just the parts were thousands, plus install. The body shop guy at Porsche said the letters are peel and stick and they could just paint them for whatever that's worth. Please let know if you know otherwise.

I don't know how to link another thread but have a look at the thread titled: Porsche Taillight/Light Strip Lettering: 4Color Options

I posted some information about this subject on that thread. I don't want to duplicate too much info (I am worried another Forum member might get upset 🙃.)

The parts manager in Montreal, Canada quoted me $500 CAD (so take 30% off for USD), so your Porsche guy might not be talking about the same part.

Here's a segment of his reply to me: "as for the "Porsche" lettering in the back, the only thing I see is 95C853687B @ 507.25$ with a description, "light strip blue". There are only 2 options, black and blue. I am pretty sure this is what you are asking for. There are 26 in canada so a 2-3 day delay can also be expected."

Fantastic! I’m ordering them today in glacier blue. Thanks so much

The glacier blue lettering looks beautiful on the slate. I would not change it.
EDIT: Just noticed the ugly US rear bumper, I thought those were a thing of the past?
Probably punishment for that plate less beautiful front (we don't get those in Europe).

I strongly recommend making a template from construction paper or cardboard to help place the replacement letters in the correct location.
Or just use blue tape and tape off where the existing letters are, but that works as well

I actually like the Macan's implementation of this vs the Taycan. Believe the Taycan had the letters inside the lights meaning you would have to change the entire light strip. I supposed its more elegant though.

Yes, blue masking tape would work as well. Put one long stripe above and below the letters, and then short stripes on either side of each letter to box them in and ensure correct alignment.

Yep, like double sided tape. I'll let a body shop deal with the tape. Wonder if it's heated. I do love the light strip but after market it's ridiculously expensive and have to disassemble etc

Just adding a photo here so people can see how these letters are attached, not under plastic or requiring disassembly.

Just make sure to put them back in the right order, it would look silly if it then spelled PORCSHE. 🤪

I just bought the same blue letters. They were pricey at $340, and seem somewhat cheap, but I like the color. I have black letters on black now, so you can't see the emblem. My Macan is Frozen Blue. Curious how the letters are applied. Double sided tape, then heated? Will they withstand touches car washes?

They’re double sided tape, the same stuff that the original letters, side badges, and rear logos are attached with. Same thing BMW has for their badges on the trunk and Audi their rings on the rear. It should hold up so long as you apply to a well cleaned surface.
