Charging cord direction

Has anyone had any resolution from Porsche for the fact that the plug faces a direction that makes using the mounting bracket virtually impossible without significant torsion on the cable?

That’s odd, mine points the correct direction. Lights and controls facing out when plugged in…

Mine is USA. I got my car in November 2024.

Maybe they figured it out?

They should send new plug adapters to those with the wrong facing. I have emailed Porsche.

Don’t know how responsive they are to these things.

one (not the only reason) of the reasons to avoid using Porsche as your EVSE vendor is that they have no idea of how to provide customer support for this "accessory" - there is no clear responsibility in the Porsche infrastructure for dealing with EVSE problems…

it's one reason I recommend against using Porsche as your EVSE…they simply won't deal with any problems.

My quick solution was to open up the electrical box inside the wall and turn the plug 180 degrees. Now the plug chord goes towards ceiling vs floor. Make sure to disconnect the power to outlet before doing.

Not sure it fives the problem, the front of the charger will still face the wall. Maybe twist the cord and secure the charger. Hopefully with time the cord will adopt this position without having to force it into it. I checked my Porsche's mobile charger and the cord fits in the right position.

I’d just exchange it if possible. Sounds like a defect to me
