Google maps run on my Android Pixel 6 indeed displays turn by turn with distances and lane suggestions in the HUD on my new 4S.
WOW - that's GREAT news! I was getting concerned I might need to go 'to the dark side' (Apple - and please - I'm just joking) to get the HUD to be incorporated into NAV!!!

If you want google maps with HUD on Apple just use the latest ABRP version … as a bonus you get true EV routing … You need to have a subscription but you can test that by taking one and canceling …
And my hope is that Apple CarPlay 2.0 will be implemented by Porsche rather sooner then later and then all you want is just that. Or I’ll switch to Neu Klasse or cayenne 🤣

PS you really will not switch for that … 🤣😜

i can say for sure the Porsche Nav, or whatever system they're using, is horrible.
it takes me way out of my way or even backwards at times!!!
for example...

I have owned my 4S just a few weeks and have only used the native Porsche nav on one occasion but found the directions confusing. And at times turn directions appeared late as I entered the relevant intersection or just as I'm coming to it, and that was when traveling at low speed. Not very useful. I have never had such problems with Google mapping.

I am looking into the ABRP mapping app as a way to plan dynamic road trips with charges. Has anyone had experiences with ABRP?

Yes, the nice thing about ABRP is it gives charger availability so you can re-plan a stop if a charger station is busy. I do not like the google style maps and I use Apple Maps most of the time and add a charging stop as POI when my charge is running below 20% (if you select charging station you see a nice list of available charging stops on route) … both have the disadvantage that they do not precondition the battery … not an issue when temps are above 18C …
