I’ve had my Macan 4S for four months now. I haven’t had any significant issues thus far. I had a minor annoyance due to a passenger door rattle which resolved after placing noise insulation foam (thank you @cottony). I’m familiar with EV’s since we’ve had a Tesla Model X since 2020 (replaced with a new Tesla Model X 3 months ago), my wife’s car. I appreciate what the Tesla has to offer but much prefer my Macan. The car is a pleasure to drive. I often try to make up reasons to go out just to drive it. The cabin is luxurious and quiet. The infotainment system is good enough. I love the HUD. I mostly use wireless CarPlay. I cannot wait for the upcoming update. If able to get CarPlay Ultra great. Otherwise, the update to the regular CarPlay should be already a welcome improvement, as well as the addition of Apple Car Key. The only thing I would consider when possible is reprogramming the matrix headlights to the euro version. I’ll happily keep this car for 8-10 years. Once you drive an EV it’s hard to go back to ICE cars. The only ones I would consider buying in the future are sporty ones like the 911 or BMW M4. I have to be nice to my wife for a little while before that happens! Lol

Tech is changing, battery tech is changing, EV's are disposables. And after seeing these Taycan Turbos worthless after 1 year, there's no reason to think $120k Macan Turbos will be worth more that $45k in 24 months
they taycan is completely different animal. I think it's a mistake to compare it to the macan.
The macan hits a market that's maybe 3x the size of the Taycan...
yeah, things change, tech is advancing..all that is true, but you can't use a super niche sports car as a barometer of a SUV just because their fuel type is the same.

i don't think they had so many exec loaners, the Porsche finder tool usually discolses that in the listing but form the sampling i did none showed that -
Did you get a good deal on it comparing to a brand new?
I know for a fact (at least as far as I believe their word) that my dealer was buying up Macans that were executive loaners in order to resell them during the initial Tariff scare. Cars with 500 or 1000 miles on them. They believed they would be able to get more for them as prices on new cars went up. The first sale at auction may disclose that it was a corporate car, but the subsequent resale of that car is just a CPO.

i looks at many carfaxes of dealers cpos and they are all 8-3 months personal leases, executive cars are usually registered under corporate lease.

There aren't that many Porsche execs to account for the hundreds of CPOs floating around.

Seems to me like worrying about stuff for which we don’t have enough verifiable data and that it’s beyond our control. I’ll rather just enjoy my ride! šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I was told they aren’t just executive cars, but cars they loan out and use in various locations. And I think we are talking in the dozens of those not hundreds.

I kind of doubt there are actually hundreds of Macans available and all of them are 3-6 mo old CPOs. This just seems like a nonsense rumor started because Macans are the highest volume vehicle and there’s a lot of them in the Porsche finder, some of which may be CPO or just old data as some have found.

The implication is that everyone is giving them back or that they’re hard to sell. I agree that there isn’t good data here to reach those conclusions.

Just checked the Porsche finder and there are a total of nine 4S and 30 turbo CPOs nationwide.

That doesn’t seem like ā€œpiling upā€ to me. That’s like one dealership worth of inventory at a larger dealer.

Ok there are 74 base Macan 4 CPO nationwide, that’s a little more but come on, they’re the base model, and even then it’s hardly hundreds. How many dealerships are there in the US?

If you use this link you will see 8 pages of cars, each page has 15 cars, are you sure you used the right filter?

Ye, I’m sure. You may be combining all trims. 8 pages times 15 (120 total) sounds about like the total I posted, I just broke it down by trim

Still even if we say you’re right, let’s just compare to the gas Macan - just counting 2024+ Macan GTS - one trim - there are 357 CPOs nationwide, 24 pages.

someone is just getting an impression from a search and not really using context to come to rational conclusions.

It's pretty odd and i've been lurking on this forum to see if there are any major issues like the Taycan had in the beginning (and still having with the first gen) but i can't point to something specific, could it be that the huge Gas Macan customer base jumped on the EV and found out it's not what they expected and just returned the car?
Dear All.

as we know it’s dangerous to generalize so I won’t.

many of us awaited Porsche learning their errors re software when they were in fairness learning to build software on wheels versus their proven ICE expertise.

I stupidly waited for that learning and the assurance Porsche tested Macan EV models for 1 year before commercial launch. Then I assumed they knew what they were doing and was allocated a factory rider slot in 1st week of commercial production for US market delivery models.

I ordered and was overjoyed at delivery. The 4 major technical/software me had the Dealer aligned with me to process a repurchase from PCNA under NY State Lemon Law. After much back a forth over2 months I got 3moths lease value of my 12 month 1 yr prepaid lease as comp.

what’s increasingly apparent is Porsche has had to buy back problem EVs in the US at a rate they didn’t expect. This coincides with slower EU market sales across most models ICE too) AND China (recently lead or tied with US) as major market where sales plummeted.

porsche Board fired various bosses including CFO and refocused on realigning production of ,oddly for demand in key markets.

net result, Porscheā€˜s PCNA is struggling to minimize buybacks of lemons and willing to absorb so,EV or all tarrifs to weather this tough time.

great company. Great products. Beware of PCNA buybacks. They wouldn’t take back low mileage cars now - especially EVs - unless they had toošŸ˜±šŸ„ŗšŸ˜…šŸ˜³šŸ˜‰

back up thought to underscore my point:

are low mileage Porsche ICE models like 911 variants piling up as CPOs with heavy discounts? šŸ¤”šŸ˜³šŸ¤£šŸ„³šŸ¤©ā£

I remain a loyal Porsche owner. Love my EV when it runs trouble free. I just miss the billet proof reliability of each of my prior Porsche ICE models 🫶🤩
hapy motoring.

I think that a fair comparable is the Audi etron Q6e right?
guest how many CPO units they have nationwide?
From Audiusa.com it currently shows 5.

What are your thoughts?
