Hello,

Just received a call from my dealer asked me to bring back my Macan turbo for a battery inspection. He was not clear about the delay, maybe 1 week or more...

Does anyone experienced same thing ?

I hope this is not a sign of major Battery issue on the Taycan. Your confirmation of what the issue was would be very welcome !

Seems like a strange dealer request in isolation, unless others have had similar 🤷🏻‍♂️. Perhaps they are doing some work on another Turbo and need a reference to check which wires go where😉

We’ve had our turbo for a couple of weeks and I’ve heard nothing of this and checking on the NHSTA website. I do not see anything either.

Hello,

Let my turbo to the dealer today. Germany sent them a protocol to test the battery because they doubt about reliability. Depending on the test, they will do nothing or change cells or change the whole battery. They told me that this recall is probably based on VIN and data analysis produced by the car. It will take 1 week or more, don't know more yet. They let me a Macan 4 with only 20 km and freshly registered. That's sound bad to me, if they expect 1 week why don't they give me a used car ?

Note about the Macan 4 : what a performance difference with a turbo! Seems to have no power when I took over cars on the road. Hope I will have back my turbo soon.

Not really, how do you know that ? Probably around October, I was delivered in the beginning of November.

I expected you to have tracked the progress in the App, maybe not available in France. I’m sure you are right about Oct as you had it in France early November. Mine was built in late Jan.

Hope you get your turbo back soon

Update today as the dealer call me back. The whole battery pack have to be changed, it is initiative from battery manufacturer himself. Don't know what kind of risk to happen and the dealer seems to have no real idea... So new battery pack in order and they don't know how much time it will take. Definitely, I love the turbo feeling over the Macan 4 they gave me... Will keep you updated.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Though there has not been much of a mention of this anywhere, Porsche tends to keep these things quiet. Real world experience last year with our 911 held up in the port for many months for an electronic component that needed to be swapped.

My guess is the battery mfg identified a range of cars with affected batteries, Porsche quietly contacted customers in this production range and are testing and replacing as needed.

Glad they are taking care of it for you. Hopefully the wait isn't too long. Congrats on the Turbo loaner.
