Door Sill Guards

I notice in the options, there is an option for a $0 cost "door sill guards in brushed aluminum." If I do not check this option, what are the door sill guards made of? The Porsche website is not clear at all on this issue.

You have to be specific what trim you are configuring, but assume it is a Turbo.

Standard Equipment is the first place that you go to and it states that Black Brushed is standard. Therefore, if you choose your $0 cost option, they will be replaced with Brushed Aluminum (bright aluminum look), which is Standard Equipment on the 4S. On the Porsche option ladder, Black Brushed is more premium than Brushed.

Yes, I am sorry. It was the Turbo. The fact that you could spec brushed aluminum (non black) three me off, thank you for clarifying.

I opted for the illuminated door sill option on my 4S in brushed aluminum rather than black brushed aluminum. I personally like the black look slightly more, however the instructor at PEC Atlanta said the black will show a lot of dust and footprints.

I’m happy with the lighter aluminum look but others on this forum who have the black aluminum can tell you whether or not this is an issue.
