I'm glad to see a recent review dedicated to a U.S.-spec Turbo model - I feel like they've generally been few and far between!

Coming from a '22 Macan S, and with the freeze date on my own Turbo less than a week away (March 10), it was reassuring to hear a YouTuber I'm familiar with / someone with an established record reviewing cars say that "[Porsche] made a switch to electric without ruining what was great about the Macan" and go on to sum things up with "... this car is surprisingly excellent".

I can't wait for mine!

A pretty balanced review - hard to disagree with. Doug is a pretty smart guy, I've noticed a mood change on his podcast over the last couple of weeks around his attitude to electric and he is becoming more positive about them, and the need for US manufacturers especially to not give up on electric. In other markets it's full steam ahead.

Many confuse Porsche's troubles with electric with what I believe the main causes are: high prices and China not buying Porsche models anymore. China can do luxury and high-tech all by itself now, there is no need for fancy European brands.

Loving my Turbo thus far

I've had the opportunity to drive the Macan 4 for a week, but own the Turbo. There's a significant difference between the two models... from brakes to overall power and speed. The Turbo flys and is glued to the road. Love this car.

Doug is definitely an acquired taste, but he usually gets the major points right. He missed some smaller points like the cooled phone charger and the lack of harsh regen that maintains the enthusiast driving experience, but otherwise makes a fairly positive review. His subjective scores are a joke (really? just one point separating the Porsche from a glorified Hyundai(Genesis)), but at least he is somewhat consistent with his scoring and I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Actually it wasn’t even one point. They were scored the same, he just listed the Porsche on top. His scoring takes into consideration “value” so pricing of the turbo worked against it in that category compared to the GV60.
