Hi, so the temperature hit -12 today. My left charge port door has not been able to open since I got it back from the dealer (Jan 5) but it was also unable to open for a while before that trip. Now my right charge door is not opening again. So I basically cannot use this car on long distance trips in cold weather as I risk being unable to charge. I will also create another thread as there is a high pitch whine on top of the electric motor hum. This car was absolutely not tested or made for the winter. Did Porsche assume these would be stored for the winter like a GT3 RS?

For those folks in Canada, how would I reach Porsche Canada? They need to know about the ridiculous issues that render this car useless for me.
Call: 1 (800) 767-7243

This is the Porsche NA number had to call it a couple of times when the dealership wasn’t taking my Macan 4 charging issue seriously.

Had the same problem (manual ports) on the right side. Mechanic and trim part were replaced by a updated / revision parts. They told me that the old trim part had some water issues underneath the ā€˜skin’.

Since this week I have the same problem on the left side (port won’t open). The car is going to the garage next week and the mechanic and trim part will also be replaced by an updated version.

I’ve attached some pictures from the current situation!

Quick update: The dealership was able to find issues with my charging port.

One of them wasn't able to signal the car that it is locked and that's why the other wasn't opening up. The other one (DC) still has a metallic issue and so they are replacing it.

Quick update from me too: I got both my charge doors opened. It is definitely a mechanical issue on the left (driver's side) charge port, but likely made worse when outside in cold temperatures. The car has been in my brother's garage (around 10-12 degrees C) since yesterday evening. I asked him to try opening the doors at various times during the day but no luck. Then I recommended the following (I saw this in another thread last month but I do not remember which thread):

On the left manual door, press the door in while locking/unlocking the car. At first that did not work, then he tried pressing in the door with more force, locked/unlocked then heard and felt a mechanical click on the door. It opened! He then closed it and opened it a few times then it stopped opening again. Why? Because somehow the right side door opened by itself. He closed the right door, then the left door was able to open again. Both doors open with ease now. You can hear one side locks when the other is opened. So clearly the lock mechanism that keeps the left door closed was mechanically stuck. It's either defective or misaligned. I will pick up the car tomorrow but will drive with the flap open so I can finally charge it at home.

Not sure how the right door can open by itself but I suspect it is because I tried opening it so many times even when it was extremely cold outside, so something got pressed it but could not release the door as it thought the left side was opened. I wish I can disable locking these doors.
