FitcamX dashcam. Anybody installed one?

I installed mines 2 weeks ago. After seeing TMQRS installed. installation was easier than expected, I have had zero issues so far. But I ordered Porsche model A fitcam

After several e-mails & photos of the y-cable, & confirming I connected the cable in the correct spot... they say I have a cable issue.

I really hope this is the case, because I don't want to wait another month to use this dash cam. I have all the cover/panels off the car and I hate leaving the car unfinished.

From other reddit posts, it could certainly be the camera/software issue. I wish they would just send new camera and cable instead of just the cable. We'll see where this goes.

They shipped the y-cable, it looks like this will take 22-23 days to arrive....

I received the new cable, they look identical but the serial numbers are different. I'll share the part numbers when I try to install the camera again tonight.

The new y cable they sent did not work. They finally acknowledge that their camera is broken. I requested a new UV filter lens since the one I ordered - I used the adhesive to tape onto the camera before testing it.

so far this has been a very time consuming dash cam installation.

I also went through a time consuming process. As as I know, everybody who has one of these installed received a version of the camera that looked like the following:

However, I was sent an "updated" version that I actually think looks better and even more OEM (less vents, etc)

As you can tell from the install, I couldn't get it to fit right nor did a professional installer that i ended up calling. Eventually the "older" version was sent to me and it popped in in under 5 mins. Customer service was actually quite good and responsive. Overall, I'm still very pleased with the camera.

@macanchan which version did you get? For clarity I was told both version was Model A so this wasn't an instance of selecting the wrong type (at least that's what i was told)

Mine did not have those extra vents. I read on another forum that some cameras had software update issues which caused the camera to brick.

I did test my rain sensors with both y plus and it seems to work, so it’s not a wiring issue.

That’s good to hear. I prefer the one without the vents. If you got the CPL filter as well it fits 100% better on this version vs the vented.
