Porsche state my two day old car has got the ‘Drive System Control Fault has been caused by a software error is the HCP5 Gateway Control unit. A software solution is currently in development with a timeline of mid-2025; at this stage part replacement will not correct the fault.

So basically the car might at times not go into park or drive , the only solution is to turn the car off and wait around 25 mins for it to reset. Porsche think this is acceptable. Has anyone else heard of this issue as im having to battle to get porsche to listen

I’m sure you probably want to keep the car but if Porsche are not taking the issue seriously, you could remind them that under UK law if within the first 30 days the car is unfit or unsatisfactory then you can return and get a full refund, irrespective of what Porsche or the dealer have buried in the order & contract. Also, outside of the 30 days but within 6 months, the dealer only gets one opportunity to replace or rectify the error - then you get your money back.

If you want to go down that road, or probably just remind them of their responsibilities, there is very helpful guidance from the Motor Ombudsman here - https://www.themotorombudsman.org/knowledge-base/what-to-do-about-a-new-car-problem

Thanks have been battling them since i got it in november. Issue is that it is a salary sacrafiice lease so i’m not able to reject the car and the lease company arent interested because porsche say it’s acceptable. They have put me in firstly a volvo through enterprise (yep i couldnt believe it ether) then a porsche macan petrol after i highlighted what i was playing to drive a volvo
Losing all faith. Just can’t get my head round porsche saying it’s ok. They say that only 3 cars have reported this gaultier in the uk. (so that makes it ok then ?) Never again

Hard to believe that only 3 cars have issues that can’t be solved by replacing problematic modules + totally reset the system. Whereas all the others cars with the same firmwares are almost problem free.

Porsche Software+electronics engineers suck… Really. Strongly. Amazingly.

Of course, I'm not familiar with the English legal system. But in your case, it's clear that you don't have to accept the car. But I think your problem is the leasing company/ your employer. They are the contractual partner for porsche. if they accept the car, why should porsche replace it? So I think it's a bit unfair to criticize porsche here.
Ps: how often did the problem occur since november ?
