Previously I posted that I’d scraped my front splitter while trurning into a parking lot. I also mentioned that I had never scraped the nose on my 2011 Cayman S over 13 years. I’ve now scraped the Macan three times in eight months. I finally figured out how to do it reliably (well, OK, why it happens).

I think it is happening because I occasionally put the Macan into sport mode. The vehicle is lowered and stays lowered until either I select Normal mode while driving or I park the vehicle. The problem is that I drive in “Sport“ mode, and then drive into town and forget to select “Normal“ to raise the suspension. Then, still lowered, I turn across a deep gutter / drainage channel.

Just posting this so you too can reliably scrape the front end of your new Macan! Sport driver beware.

I have my car set up to go into Lift Mode when I get home to deal with the dip at the bottom of our driveway. I still need to be careful not to go too fast or the suspension compresses enough for the lip to scrape anyway.

Simply adjust the Chassis Level to Lift at the location where you want the car to raise itself and select Save when prompted. The Lift function will be executed regardless of the drive mode and driver profile being used.

Yes, for regularly traveled routes, the memory function is great. Unfortunately I was not on regular routes when I scraped my car.

I think you can still reliably scrape the splitter even when using Automatic Lift Mode. For me at least, it occasionally forgets to do the lift and I occasionally forget to check it has lifted, providing an excellent window of opportunity for a bit of scraping.

Being aware of how forgetful and distracted I can be, I selected the off road facia. I haven't had a rub, but one close call with a curb. But then I also fixed the driveway dip.... :)

I managed to get our entire driveway redone whilst omitting to fix the dip onto the road, which would have been an easy fix at the time. So now I get the scrape the car every two or three months as a lesson to myself.

It never fails to engage when I arrive home but after been parked up it fails to lift when leaving home about 1 in 20 or so times. The good news is that it only scrapes if I manage to find the exactly wrong line off the driveway at the same time as the lift not lifting and me not noticing. I suspect it's just another subtle software bug that's never getting fixed.

lift mode works well for me. question: I think the piece that actually scrapes is well seperated from the bumper and may be easily replaced? has anyone looked at the parts list to see this piece? (I have turbo).

My front splitter is in the process of being replaced - there was a minor scratch on it when I went to take delivery of the car and they offered to replace it - its a Macan EV Turbo and the splitter is in gloss black. They are not pained but gloss black plastic. Since I have a dealer closer than where I purchased it the splitter was sent to me and I arranged for the fitting and Porsche would pay - simple you might think. The local dealer wanted £2086 to fit it ! just the fitting charge. The whole front bumper has to come off and the radar and front camera have to be recalibrated - in for 2 days.
So take more care of your front splitters - the replacement cost is prohibitive

interesting. do you have the part number for that piece added to the bottom of the bumper (that you are now replacing on the turbo)?

I use lowered mode in and around town to avoid most pull up curbs and dips in driveway. I only put my car in sport mode on the Highway only for better aerodynamics. No problems in 6 months and I live in Louisiana, worst roads in the Galaxy.😎

The car lowers itself automatically on the Highway and then back up when you slow down, so do you need to do it manually?

The height is the same but the consumption is lower in Normal as Normal is primarily rwd while sport is awd. Some people have money to burn (j/k).
