I just did my first motorway journey and whilst the ALK and ACC was better than the phantom braking of my old Tesla, it did not do anything with respect to posted or indicated speed limits. I thought Innodrive was meant to be intelligent? There is an option on the stalk menu for Limiter which then says Auto but that just appears to a speed limiter function.

any help please!?

You will need to enable it to AUTO in the assistance menu. Be warned that it tends to sometimes pick up the wrong speed limit which may result in sudden deceleration or acceleration.

So thatā€™s the limiter rather than cruise control option?

It's in the assistance menu in the PCM. It is in manual by default. If Auto is enabled then it adapts to the speed signs.

I donā€™t see this. I have ACC, Limiter, Porsche Hill Control and Off.

In the PCM with ACC as the mode I have

Speed limits apply detected
Route topography
Lane keeping

All are ticked.

On the drive, the car didnā€™t apply detected speed limits (it did detect them it just didnā€™t alter anything)

This should show a sub menu- Manual/Auto.

Will send some screenshots next time I am in the car.

See screenshots. Not very intuitive. Need to click on the circle thing for the sub menu.

Blimey. OK hadnā€™t even occurred to me the blue sign was anything other than a pretty visualisation. Will give it a try - thank you.

On my first journey back from the dealership I turned the auto speed limits feature on by accident. Was happily cruising along at 85 when the car slammed on the brakes. It did it several times, then I worked it out. Will never use again unless there is a way to apply a margin to each posted limit (I think I may have seen a ā€œlatitude ā€œ setting for want of the proper name, but I donā€™t think there was any way to vary it.)

It can get annoying as it sometimes picks up side road 30mph limits, you can override it by pushing the stalk up though to set a higher speed again

When I collected my car I was told that the Sat nav had incorrect limits in it for a local dual carriageway and Porsche were on the case ā€¦..
After a very bad experience in a Merc some time ago, I wonā€™t rely on auto limit in any car. If you are thinking of using it, I suggest you do a few longish drives and see what limit is reported, although I think Innodrive may use cameras as well. With a HUD displaying actual and the speed limit I donā€™t think an Auto speed limiter / Sat nav is really necessary.
That said, the EU now insist on an ā€˜autoā€™ speed limiter to be fitted to all new cars so may not be very long before itā€™ll be on by default and you may not be able to turn the damn thing off.

Speed limit recognition is unreliable in every car I have driven that has this "feature". Teslas are better than most and Porsches are worse than most but, in my experience, none of these systems are reliable. I, therefore, never use them to adjust a cruise control's speed setting. I also consider that it is my responsibility to look out for speed limit signs and modify my speed accordingly. After all, I doubt that "the car was speeding" would be an acceptable excuse in the eyes of the law!

So, as above for how to turn on the function. However - donā€™t bother! There is a known issue on, what appears to be all/the majority of, UK spec cars in that itā€™s not picking up the correct signage, nor applying the actual standard road speeds nor topography. Porsche are apparently aware, and have been working on it since launch. No fix is sight any time soon. If you do a quick search there are hundreds of posts regarding it on this forum. I had to turn mine off after a similar incident of going from 70 to 5 (should have been 50) on a busy dual carriage way.

Frustrates the hell out of me as it used to work 99% of the time perfectly on my Audi e-tron, yet only 1% of the time on the Porsche - and itā€™s an expensive extra for something that has never worked on a car thatā€™s now 5 months or more old.
