Any opinion by Porsche users about the Tex race options?

IMO, full leather is a MUST- to me, the dashboard without the top stitching looks cheap. Same for the doors. I will say, however, that the partial leather is the LEAST objectionable when the interior is black. Just my two cents...

Thanks @MAPC this is what I was thinking having the black interior. It would be great to have the full but, with sport seats, it will add only the door panels and part of the central console. That’s why I was thinking about the Tex Race roof and steering wheel but I haven’t had any tips or suggestion from former Porsche users…

Thankfully on the Turbo version, the "base" version is already the partial leather which covers the dashboard - so not something Turbo buyers need to worry about.

But I take your point for the Macan 4, it looks a little plain without any leather.

The Turbo model comes with Race-tex for the roof and having seen it in other models, I love it.
For the wheel itself however, I wasn't as impressed when I went to the dealership: I am sticking with the default Turbo Heated GT Sport steering wheel in Leather.

Reading on the Taycan forum for instance, people seem to like the Race-tex steering wheel - but suggest you give it a try in person if you can go to a dealership.

The other option I’m still evaluating is the Tex-race celing and steering wheel. Any previous experience from you Porsche owners? Keep in mind my all day use of the car for 3000/4000 km each month 😉
Fabric (Race Tex, Alcantara or similar) critical control surfaces (steering wheel, manual gear knob) offer better grip than leather but only when the driver wears fabric racing gloves (maybe also when having bare sweaty hands?). Other than that, it's lighter than leather so saves some weight, but it's less durable.

II'm a Taycan owner with Race Tex steering,...it's a big problem because hands sweat...and
you have to clean it with a specially made brush and a foam for the alcantara... for the new Macan Turbo I left the standard steering wheel....no doubt

When at the Porsche dealer last weekend, discussing the RaceTex wheel was one of five things we went to evaluate. The salesperson was great, totally candid when asked yet never pushing his point of view on us. For example re his response to my RaceTex or not question, without saying a word other than let’s look at this one, he lead us to another part of the showroom used very low mileage, I think he said nine month old GT4 RS. It was stunning inside and out until he had us look at the RaceTex steering wheel — which already was looking a little gritty.

When I pushed him for his opinion, he said “for a racer, YES, get it; for everyone else who wants to married to cleaning it often with SONAX/microfibers, or who does not always wear driving or other gloves, go with the standard leather wheel.”

Echoes the feedback we see on this board, thanks for adding another data point!
