"Launch Vehicle" ?

Looking over the build sheet, I noticed the “Launch Vehicle” line item at $0.00. I assume everyone who ordered their Macan EV at this point is either mostly, if not all, “Launch Vehicle”? Are there any noteworthy differences?

No "launch vehicle" option in EU (at least in Italy)

Biggest difference may be the “Launch” cars will sit up to 3 months post build on a lot until the September official release, whereas following ones will be delivered as soon as built. 🫠

Jokes aside, not heard of any differences. My Macan should be available a few weeks after the Launch ones, hopefully just missing out on bragging rights.

Unfortunately, no. It’s whatever they have available for the launch. My dealership actually got two Macan Turbos with the exact same options, so I get to pick my favorite VIN and the other one will be demo.

I have looked extensively at the ones that are not pre-sold but going to dealerships for showroom and/or test drive use. So many of them are duplicate specs, e.g. pairs of same-spec’d 4’s and even turbos.

Interesting also how they are many spec’d with specific and same options and colors,, yet other colors and options not being on even a single vehicle in an entire quarter of the U.S.

Guessing that the corporate Porsche marketing folks, not the dealerships, are spec'ing those showroom/test drive ones (exception of course for specific customer pre-solds).

Makes sense… the orders shouldn’t say launch vehicle

I'm a Tesla owner considering Macan. I just want to test drive it first before deciding. Maybe a dumb question, why Porsche doesn't start the deliveries to show rooms and customers already now? What's the benefit to wait until September?

IMHO I think tests took more time than planned (especially the new software) and now it's not the best time of the year to show new cars. People are thinking to holidays....

They just started the production of the cars a couple of weeks back, that’s the reason why. Yes they do have a few cars ready for press but that wouldn’t be enough for the hundreds (thousands?) of dealerships in the world.

Agree with you, would also love to test drive it before ordering but… as @Diego mentioned, crazy software delays unfortunately.
