Hello Guys!

I’m considering to opt for a black/chalk leather interior but I never had a light color like this, so I would want to know:

1. What products or cleaning kits do you recommend to clean the leather and avoid the blue Jean transfers?

2. How often do I have to clean the seats? (No kids, no pets, just regular use with occasional kids passengers)

3. Some products to preserve the “new car smell” as long as possible?

Thank you!

i don't know of any single product...but the leather used in the car is of a Satin/Matte finish for the most part... so whatever you choose, you don't want the glossy oil stuff

Invest in getting the interior leather ceramic coated and then it is pretty much stress free. At least mine has been for 3+ years and I have the full leather chalk

Vacuum, use a distilled water dampened microfiber cloth.Monthly at least. For heavier dirt use a weak cleaner like lexol, according to their directions. You don't want to soak anything. I don't like conditioner as it is way to easy to clogs pores and softens the leather. But some like shiny seats.

It's been a long time since I've used a leather cleaner.

The last one that worked well for me was Optimum Leather Protectant, kept things matte and wasn't too strong. It seems this product may have been rebranded and is a different color now. I would try to clean denim dyes with a microfiber and water first. As @Greenmachine says, using a coating would prevent the dye transfer to begin with.

I'm not familiar with ceramic coatings for leather. Since my leathers are usually black, I prefer to stick with some of these other brands: Leather Master Soft Finish Matte, KOCHCHEMIE Leather Star, Swissvax Gloss Corrector Matte.

For the RaceTex stuff, I use Sonax Alcantara cleaner. I got some Dr Beasleys Microsuede Protection Spray but haven't applied it yet.

Good luck and let us know your results!

I'm also a fan of the CarPro stuff. I would try the Inside Leather & Cleaner.

FWIW my detailer feels ceramic leather protectant is worthless and does not offer it. He uses a basic leather protectant.

I have the crayon interior so always keep a bottle of Gtechniq Tri Clean in the frunk. Works wonders, especially if you get to it quickly.

Zaino Z9 cleaner & Zaino Z10 conditioner/protector. Besides their excellent leather protection, especially the Z10 results in the car smelling like you stepped into the highest end leather store in the world.
