Just to really spice up this thread.. looks wise I'd go..
1) Taycan Sedan
(By a mile)
2) Electric Macan
3) Taycan Sports Turismo
4) Taycan Cross Turismo

I actually like sport wagons but something about the Taycan wagon doesn't work for me. It ends up looking too round, too egg shaped for me. Maybe it's just because it takes an absolutely beautiful car and makes it, well, less so.

I like the RS6 and Panamera Turismo, but neither one of those are changing beautiful cars. Both also just feel more squared off and proportionate to me.

It's why I never considered a Taycan CT, even though it would almost certainly be my go to car otherwise.
I completely agree on this, the sedan is a masterpiece, good point

Great thread!
My husband just got a 2025 Macan 4S, and I like it so much I'm debating between a 2025 Taycan (sedan, base probably) and either another Macan 4S or Turbo. But right now doesn't seem to be a great time to buy a Taycan. The 2025's are significantly better, but still have old tech and no physical buttons for HVAC. It seems like it's time to upgrade the MMI tech, right? Plus it is likely to depreciate tremendously as pointed out in a previous post. So, if it's Taycan, best to wait 1 or 2 years (?) at a much better price.

But even then, our local dealer said the Taycan is lower to the ground than a 911. I'm sure the Taycan would be fantastic on a mountain road, but, what about getting in and out every day at Home Depot, the dry cleaners, the supermarket, etc? That might get old fast.

The new Taycans have a capability to raise the car height when getting in/out but it’s not free of course!

Still, there are plenty of other reasons to skip the Taycan.

I saw that option at the dealer. You need to wait- maybe 3-4 seconds- every time you open the door for it to raise 55 mm. Plus jacking the car up every time you open the door- would you really leave this on all the time. Not to mention the option runs ~ $7k in the US as I recall

Ouch!

I didn’t know the detail, just heard about it. Personally I’d avoid it anyway as don’t trust Porsche to have this work reliably and/or when it breaks it will be a bitch to repair!

To be fair to Porsche here, the option to raise/lower the car on entry/exit is about much more than just that. Porsche Active Ride (the option we’re discussing) is a very sophisticated suspension management system that uses active control of a very fast-reacting air suspension to control vehicle dynamics. The end result has been described by reviewers as almost surreal. Imagine, for instance, your car leaning INTO turns (like a motorcycle) instead of out. The end result, as I understand it, is improved performance AND comfort—two things that often trade off against eachother.

I don’t mean to sound lIke a Porsche ad here, but I’ve read a bit on this option and it‘s pretty cool.

In any event, good luck to the OP with your choice. Wonderful to have options!

Based on your needs of frequent runs and getting in and out rules out the Taycan.
Active Ride's lift feature will not be much help since the issue is the forward positioned B-pillar.
Also, if you like physical buttons and physical vent adjustments then this is not offered on the Taycan. However, after you climb in, then it is no contest as far as handling and driving.

Now it is a great time to buy a used Taycan as many are hunting for sweet deals after massive depreciation already taken place. My dealer has a lot full of 2025s Taycans that are not moving, so small discounts can be had but there is no way of avoiding the same depreciation.

“Active Ride” is an excellent rde/suspension enhancing option just for the reasons you described, though at $7,140 plus the required companion option of $1,500 PTSV+, that is one expensive choice especially if one is only or primarily looking at the issue of easier height at egress and entry — which BTW is + 2.2” height increase. For those with an extra 15 seconds to wait, one can, standard on the every Cross Turismo get that additional 2.2” height without Active Ride option by a singular click button on the word “Gravel” on its center console.

Hey there, curious about back seat leg room with car seats vs taycan. Saw in your initial post text the comparison before putting car seat in the back. Can you comment on this? I have a taycan now and have been wondering if macan ev is a big enough improvement over taycan to make it worth switching. I have got a little guy in a rear facing seat. Thanks!

More to it than aiding ingress or egress. Replaces PDCC which is a major suspension aid keeping the car always flat.

The base feature for ingress and egress should be part of the standard air suspension setup.
