Speakers generally need a breaking in period at a reasonable volume over several hours before they sound as they should.

Are there any apps to apply parametric EQ or otherwise customize the sound of the Bose? I was shocked to see mere treble/bass sliders on a $90k car.
you ain't lyin... kind of a shame
I do find the surround profile to be surprisingly good...

Is the Bose in the GTS the same as the base Macan? Because the Bose in the base Macan does sound great to me. I have the burmester in my EV and the bass just doesn’t hit as hard as the Bose does. If you spend some time in listening to the Burmester, the overall sound quality blows the Bose away.

You won’t be disappointed with the Burmester… after some time you’ll realize while the Bose sounds loud with all the mid bass, you aren’t getting the same sound quality as the Burmester. No highs, no lows, must be Bose!

The Burmester is as good as it gets without tearing apart your car and installing aftermarket stuff.

if you’re using Spotify you can adjust the EQ. But let’s be real, are you optimizing the track better than the sound engineer who produced the music? And you’re going to do this each time you play another song?

I spent a lot of time adjusting EQ, frequency slopes, active crossovers, etc. it sounds great for one song and horrible on the next.

I played around on different sources, DAB and Apple Music (lossless audio) sounds superior to Spotify... to me the compression used in Spotify removes some of the spectrum. I have a Premium Spotify account.

it does but I have way more playlists on Spotify. The difference is negligible when you’re actually driving and I don’t listen to music in a parking lot.

I was going to say, I use Tidal at home and I can hear the difference between Spotify and Tidal easily. In my car, they both sound terrible 😅 I have never listened to the Burmester system though.

I did the same with tidal switching back and forth and I realized how ridiculous I was being.

Haha yeah same. At home, I still sometimes switch back and forth, and Spotify always sounds like the music is muffled a bit. In the car, I played with the different Bose modes and treble/bass adjustments, the result is always bad, I landed on Stereo / -1 Bass and that's it.

My Macan has a rattle in passenger door panel with any level of bass (Bose system). Service unable to fix on first attempt, will have to schedule another visit. Bass turned down for now.
