My Macan EV Manually operated charging flaps on both sides do not sit flush.

I went to Porsche dealership Solihull UK and they said it was in tolerance.
To me it isn’t within tolerance given it’s a Porsche.

Anyone else noticed this ?
Hi - Yes However Solihull have had multiple reports which they have raised with Porsche AG - Porsche UK are unable to assist. They have raised a case with AG in order to obtain a fix - We reckon its a problem with the clip structure under the plastic colour panel specifically on the manual version - BTW my car is the Turbo version so 104K - Not good enough to have passed QA or PDI had to quote the Consumer protection act

Picked my car up on Saturday Newcastle Porsche they have admitted there is a problem and are writing to Porsche for solution, I identified this straight away and is an obvious design issue can’t see this being a quick fix. Probably going to ask for money back

Yes agreed - I have manual flaps and mentioned it to the dealer in November. I was told “ Porsche is aware”. Given that in other countries than the UK this fault is being corrected I think that Porsche UK should reach out and communicate with new Porsche Macan EV owners, recall those with ill-fitting flaps and remedy the problem. I have sent a request to Porsche UK via my dealer but have heard nothing yet. My advice is to stay on the case and push Porsche hard.

I live in Canada and have a Macon 4. The dealer is replacing both charger flaps at no cost. State they have to come painted from Germany, so may take a few weeks, but the problem will be rectified. Anyone out there who has charger flaps are not flush, definitely take the time to tell your local dealer.

Mine was like this at delivery. They fixed it and it’s fine now. Just not sure what exactly they did to align it

Why are they replacing them? They have a document (TI bulletin) that technicians can follow to adjust them in their shop. They did that for me, and now the original misaligned ones are flush.
It took them 1.5 hours to do it. I explain in more detail earlier in this thread. There is a chance the new ones will also be misaligned as they need to fit them flush to your car.

You don't need to ask for your money back because of this. The technicians need to find the recently released TI (Tech info) instructions in their database and use them to adjust the door. They did it for me in about 1.5 hours. It is a quick fix if they know what they are doing. My door after they fixed it. They explained that they needed to remove the inner plastic boot and adjust the multiple screws inside to pull the door panel into proper position.

TBH I didn't ask that Q. Just assumed Porsche international has recieved this as a frequent issue and have created a fix that is being done by the dealers. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ah ok...yeah just saying you should not have to wait more than a day in the shop and not weeks for them to get a new one.

Haha that's what they said. I insisted that there was an IT Bulletin out but they said this was their recommended solution. I wasn't fussed about and just wanted my car back. Will reiterate when they call me back haha

Man...these guys need to do their jobs. It took my guys almost no time to figure this out. The internal document (which they did not show me but explained in detail) is called a TI (Technical Information). They should call the Victoria BC service department if they cannot find it but if you have to tell them that ....well that is messed up big time....just saying...lol.
