Macan EV not maintaining data connection

Few weeks back my iPhone app stopped working to set climate control on the car or remotely lock and unlock it. It started giving me these errors:

When setting climate from app:
Something went wrong
This function is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

When unlocking car from app:
Unlock vehicle
This function is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

The app does connect to the phone to show things like location and charge status but often that data is lagging by several hours.

None of these issues were happening in first couple months of ownership.

Turns out the car might not be maintaining a solid data connection. It does work intermittently enough to be able to send some data to phone but not stable enough to use all remote functions from app.

Porsche customer service has shared these details with the international team and I’m waiting for a response.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and has had success in resolving them.

i have a similar issue since a few days. It shows 4g is active, i can always get connected remotely via the app. But none of the apps are working due to lack of internet connection. Porsche connected services are active and no privacy issues. Reboot does not help.

Yes, I had this issue. It took a long time to get it resolved with multiple trips to my Porsche Service Center. IIRC, it was the Communication Module replacement that fixed it.

The various resets of the Data Module didn’t help. My understanding (with incomplete info) is that the data module is the LTE/5G connectivity, and the Communication Module bridges the cellular connection to the PCM.

Ryley from PCNA was the most helpful when my case was escalated to them. Ask for Ryley when you check up on your case.

I discovered the issue by not being able to precondition the car via the app after we got snow. And then I found that the SOS light on the headliner was not lit green (wasn’t lit at all), and the cell service icon was the same no-data icon as @pepperwhiter56 posted an image of above.

I see the issue with climate- but not with lock/unlock or with planned routes. So it seems to be a Porsche systems issue

I have had my 4S for over a year and 18,000 miles. Suddenly - I am trying to pre-climate the car (from the cell phone app) and get the message, "No data connection to the vehicle can currently be established." If I hit the horn button, the horn will trip -after about 30 seconds. And the Vehicle Details, in the app, show a charge of 75% while the dashboard shows 80%. Any idea how to establish a connection?

I had the same problem the last couple of days, and then this morning it worked again.
Presumably they had some back-end systems bug that it took them a couple of days to detect and fix, if it hit so many of us ...

Same issue here. My app says the vehicle data was last updated 16th February (5 days ago). I have tried resetting PCM but no success. The same happens on my wife's app so the issue is either with the car or on the Porsche central network.

Anyone know how to kick-start this? I saw one thread suggesting deleting and re-adding the user profile in the car but can't see how that would establish a missing connection to the App?

OK- I resolved mine, so hopefully the same will work for others on here.

I tried resetting the PCM using the central button but that did not work. I didn't fancy deleting and adding the user profiles again as that takes quite a bit of set up.

Instead, I disconnected the 12v battery for 2-3 minutes and allowed the car to do a harder reset. Once I reconnected, all worked fine again and I didn't lose any settings either. Its the second issue I've had so far that required a 12v disconnect/reconnection so I carry a spanner specifically for that purpose in the frunk now.
