Something in my mind says that the Macan EV will suit the needs for my family better. I do not actually need a car for 6-12 months and can make use of the other cars I have...With a young family and dog, perhaps the Macan will suit us better? We have always had SUVs (at least for the last 12 years).

After reading that the Macan is also likely to have a better range (probably less power/speed to achieve that), it just makes me wonder whether I should just swap my deposit to get early in the queue for the Macan?

If history tells us well, there is likely going to be a huge queue with crazy residuals on the Macan for the first couple of years too. Can anyone talk me out of it :)? Before anyone asks, residual is important to me as I won't be doing a PCP.

Is the Macan EV indeed due in 2022 launch with deliveries later next year?

Thanks

Get rid of that "thing" ? Jägermeister helps with most of them. I have driven 40k with Macan and it is one of The greatest allrounders. However Taycan CT is in a different league.

The one piece I'd point out for sure is rear seat room. Most comparisons note the Taycan CT having more legroom, while the Macan might have a bit more cargo room. If they're tiny kids, maybe it's no big deal though if you can wait the 12-24 months.

? Person in long queue hoping that the rest of the queue tells them not to go join a different queue?

I wonder how will they call it. I highly doubt it that it will be "Macan", new EV line looks like it's coming with new names.

I think we can expect similar cargo space to ICE Macan, maybe a little more but don't expect huge improvement. From the spy shots we can see that the rear windshield is angled.

imho the biggest difference will be the sitting position. In I would say that sitting position is very sporty. It's close to 911 sitting position. Macan will be much comfortable with going in and out.
And the whole vehicle will be taller.

One thing I'm really curios is how the Porsche EV tech was pushed forward and what range we can expect. Knowing Porsche I wouldn't expect much range improvement. Maybe similar range to Taycan with smaller battery at smaller cost and better range with higher cost - closer to Taycan 4S price range.
But technically "Macan EV" will be higher body, higher wind resistance so worse efficiency.

So lot of questions for me....

My UK OPC was happy to take two speculative deposits from me back in the summer, one for a Taycan GTS ST and the other for an EV Macan. I was quite open that I would only want one of them and would decide which when it gets closer to decision time and we had more info. Both deposits are refundable if I change my mind so nothing to lose really other than leaving a bit more cash in their accounts for a few months.

I think the first cars won't be with customers until 2023 (my guess) but not launching until next year and then there's the rollout. It could therefore by a MY24 that you end up with.

My dealer advised me to enjoy the Taycan and look at the Macan next December with a view to secure a slot and delivery Q3 2023 at the earliest which works aligned with my 24 MPCP.
