So I've had issues using android auto (music freezes after 10mins), so have up and just use the car apps in PCM. Including navigation.

When you put a destination in and do a route, it displays a battery level % in the screen. I assume this is telling me how much battery I will have left when I arrive at my destination.

But the level the screen displays is ALWAYS wrong. And not by like a few %s, but by like 20-30% (???).

So does that number mean something else? Is there some setting I have to change somewhere? Or is this just ANOTHER example of something that's broken with car software?

Example #1.
I drop my kids off at school. I put my house into my nav and set it as a destination route. It is about 2min drive and barely 0.5 miles away. My battery shows at 47%. The nav shows the battery level next to destination as 40%. (?? So 7% to go less than half mile ??)

Example #2.
Driving to an appt, enter into nav. It says 20min, 14 miles away. My battery is at 55%. Nav shows battery next to destination info as 40% (?? So 15% to go 14 miles ??).

Example #3.
Driving to an event. Enter nav. 16min, 10 miles away. Battery at 61%. Nav shows it as 47%. (?? So 14% to go 10 miles ??)

I have MANY more. It is wildly inaccurate. Never even close. When I arrive at destination, a fraction of battery and range is used.

So is this normal for everyone?

This is the nav screen and battery level I am referring to, that seems to be wildly inaccurate.

Mine is perfect (I was wondering about the other day). When it’s wrong I arrive at destination with +-1% but I only use on long trip (more than 150 km).

Mine is accurate. If you put a destination in the map of the app and send it to the car does it show the same % at the destination as your screen does when you get in the car.

It is probably a software bug. Mine is working as designed and I use it on long trips as well as on daily city routes. It is very accurate, showing traffic and AC/DC chargers. If it could show traffic/speed cameras (using waze or apple maps for this feature), it would just be perfect.

Mine did exactly this a few weeks ago.

Drove me daft and as I had some long journeys coming up where I wanted the route planning to work so I booked it into Porsche to be looked at. Note I did try PCM resets and leaving the car over night -all many times - to no avail.

Sadly on the day I took it in, the sat nav started behaving normally again so I had nothing to show the dealer. Dealer checked out the car for error messages - there were none but otherwise couldn't really do anything. They did claim they thought this was expected behavior - which is complete nonsense.

The good news I suppose is that after 10-12 days of craziness, it just started working correctly again and so maybe it will for you too.

Actually just reread your post and I think mine was even worse as it was reporting arriving with charge HIGHER than departure (and no, it wasn't planning in charging stops).

So I could set off on a 35 mile journey at 60% with the sat nav saying I would arrive at 75% but in reality I knew I would be arriving at around 48-49%.

As I said, it fixed itself after 10-12 days..

i don't use the Porsche nav...it's pretty bad.
Google maps has charging station built in to their services now... you might wanna see what you can do with that...I used the Porsche nav to go a local charger and have the Preconditioning....the nave was taking all kinds of ways and going backwards down streets i had already traveled... i knew where i was going luckily.

I use Porsche nav for long journey, because it’s reliable.

Porsche Nav displays the SoC that is the one you’ve configured at destination: if you want a 40% SoC at destination, Porsche nav will add a charge stop in order to reach the destination with this SoC.

it’s not a bug, it’s a feature that is quiet nice and reliable in my opinion.
