I've had the same issue around 4 times now since getting my car at the end of November - three on the drivers side and one on the passenger. I suspect the sensor is too sensitive, but as there's no regular frequency/apparent cause or similar circumstances I've yet to report it to my dealer (but plan to if it happens again). I've been lucky in that it's only done it when I've been in the car, rather than returning to the car to find it's a security hazard.

I found the left front window half open several times and the left rear window once.
Sometimes I noticed it when I got out of the car while other times I didn't notice if the lowering occurred when the door was closed or later.
I haven't been to the dealership yet because it's far away and on the phone I got the impression that they don't know the problem yet.

I too have followed that procedure multiple times and still have this issue. Just happened to me for the first time in a place other than my garage. Came back from a hike with my son and the driver’s window was half open. Ug.

Between this, and the firmness with which one must close the doors, I am now convinced that Porsche needs to reprogram how the windows operate. They need to go down a bit more when you close the door, and they need to stop randomly opening. I’m not looking forward to coming back to my car and having a window half open and ruining my full weather interior because it’s raining.

My car has been back at the dealerships all week and they have just telephoned to say that they have applied a software update from Porsche that - amongst other things - is designed to resolve this issue. To say I am far from convinced is a bit of an understatement but time will tell.

The issues tends to go away for a few weeks and then returns in clusters of 2-3 occurrences over a single week so it may take a while for that confidence to be reinstated.

Happened for the first time for me this week... Auto-close seems to re-open driver side window approx 50% again. Had to manually push-and-hold to close properly. I'll add it to my list - getting new s/w at 23/04/2025 at my shop. šŸ™

You can add my car to this list too. This has occurred to the front passenger side a few times now in the last month or so. Its happened again just now, but to the rear passenger side window, whilst cleaning away the mass of dead flies from the front bumper. Just to note, my vehicle had its software updated (Porsche Stockport) on the 11 April, so this update has not resolved this issue.

Well, I may regret saying this but... mine appears to be fixed. I had issues roughly every c couple of weeks but it is now several weeks since my local dealer applied a software update which is intended to resolve it. Maybe everyone else should be asking for the same, given the fact that this is a security risk...

Thanks for the note, fingers crossed it doesn't occur again for you. I will get in contact with the dealership to see what they say.

Any idea what the ā€œidā€ or ā€œlevelā€ or ā€œnameā€ of the software update was that was applied??

No, sorry. Didnt get any details.

The dealership did have 2 attempts at resolving it. The fix (which - touching wood - seems to be holding now) was applied in April so my confidence is now almost fully restored that this was the fix. Any updates available up to that time would be candidates for your Porsche dealership to apply.

Mine goes into the Stockport dealership on Monday to see if this can be resolved. They will try and replicate the fault, which maybe difficult seeing it's very random. I did take a video of the window not closing properly though. I have also noticed the sunroof doesn't close sometimes from it's angled opening position and it just opens again, this needs a few presses to close it. I've also had to press a few times the automatic charger port as it does not open first time, again on the passenger side of the car.
The dealership over the phone, did say that I have already had the main firmware update, but would see what they can do.
He did mention that a rear camera update maybe applicable to me, well just have to wait and see, next week.

You're not far from me if you're going to Stockport (I'm in Alty). My dealer is in Chester, which think is a different group to Stockport, but you might ask them to call there and see what they applied on mine engineer-to-engineer ... given its a security issue etc. Reg is DF 74 YAW if it helps...

Happened to mine today too - my car is only 9 or so weeks from delivery and I think it has the latest software installed. I'm near Stockport too although my dealer is Wilmslow. Maybe there's something about the North West climate!!!
