Anyone else have issues with their auto parking camera not turning ON? I have it selected, it just doesnt turn On when I park front first. When I reverse, the cameras turn on perfectly fine.

Am I missing something: i can’t turn the parking system off? it is not available says the screen when I want to kill the parking sound. And for those who ask why: when I bacK up on my driveway the system sees the curb and thinks I m gonna hit it…

I noticed that it activates when the wheels are straight, so I've added it to the diamond button.

Thanks for posting. Can you tell us what the HUD is telling us about (i.e., what objects in the real world correspond to the red lines—I’m assuming the blue lines are your direction of travel)?

Looks like it gives you a bit of extra space between wheel and curb. Maybe to allow for wheel swing associated with rear wheel steering?

I can only park on-street, near curbs. And I had read comments where some mentioned parking too close to the curb can brush your rear-wheel to the curb when steering out to go.
My SA also advised me not to get it, as he said really not needed on Macan as It's not very large vehicle. I didn't tick this option.
But I understand some will find it useful parking in tight garages.

For those with North American factory installed license plates, do the front camera capture the plates at all? I have a hard time see how it doesn’t based on location of the front camera?

I leave at least the width of a tire from the curb in our Turbo and Taycan Turbo S - much easier in the Macan Electric because of the side view. And I make less sharp departures from curbside parking.

For me, I use the top view and mirrors for parking and have no issue with the backup camera - it is distorted to see side approaching traffic or objects, the lines projected are the only precision distance part of the backup camera.
