NIce. I charge at home like 99.9% of the time but this is a nice little perk, because the Tesla app isn't very user friendly IMHO.

Will there be anyway to get the discounted pricing from a Tesla app subscription? Was looking at a long road trip this summer, and feel like it pays for itself quite quickly.

I was surprised about this announcement since back on December 5, 2025 I stopped to change at a SC in North Carolina and my Macan immediately began to charge. I received an invoice from Porsche during the first week in January. It was paid on my credit card on file with Porsche.

I'll be testing this later today - and report findings!
it's works and it works well - it starts charging after plug in about 4x faster than EA starts charging…

I highly recommend it and it's a great additional to the EV fast charging landscape!!

2024 Macan Turbo EV - no big software update yet…

FAST?
I recently charged at a Tesla location, although it was cold at -5’C, the battery was pre-conditioned and max I got was 135 kW….
Not the best conditions but got much higher at other 180/250 Kw

@MyA you bring up exactly the reason I would not be using Tesla superchargers with any regularity. All currently publicly available units are 400/500 V DC maximum which means the Macan has to use its split pack technique, which has a maximum charging rate of 135 kW. Also, I don’t believe there will be a way to associate the plug in charge account with a premium $13 a month account which gives the 25% discount on supercharger costs. It will make a nice backup plan if other chargers are not functional or busy. Eventually, Tesla may roll out more of their V4 cabinets which do support 1000 V charging but currently as far as I know, they only have two sites available in the United States and only the Redwood City one supports non-Tesla vehicles.
Also, since the 1000 V, V4 Cabinets really only benefit the Cyber Truck from Tesla, I don’t believe it will be a priority to upgrade.

You can see the charging graph from EVKX.net which clearly depicts the performance you will be seeing when using a supercharger versus other chargers that support 1000 V which is virtually everything else in the universe.

Thank you very much @ron_b !
This is a very pertinent informative post. It also explains my deception…

It gave me a chance to try that brand new NACS adapter, and got me a sweet revenge towards all those Tesla boys with their own NACS to CCS adapters charging at « our » non-telsa chargers.

I know, they are not ours….

please read what I said

"it starts charging about 4x faster than EA plug&charger" - I was _NOT_ reporting on overall charging _RATE/SPEED_ but in terms of how long it takes to start the charging session

however the practical difference between a 150 kW charging session and 270 kW charging session is about 8 minutes _BEST CASE_ - and if EA takes 2 minutes before it even starts the electrons flowing you're already 1.5 minutes ahead of the game with a Supercharger given how much quicker it starts to actually charge your battery…

also it's not universally true that Tesla Superchargers will always be limited to 400V - V4 stations can be 800-1000V stations and there are already 2 in operation in California (but not yet open to non-Teslas) - in any case you may not always been charge rate limited just because it's a Tesla station moving forward in to the future.

frankly I'll take higher stall count more reliable 150 kW charging over flaky slow and limited stall count EA sites any day of the week - and an ideal 270 kW/800V charging session is only 6-8 minutes faster than an ideal 150 kW/400V charging sessions from 10% to 80%…and the Tesla charger is less likely to be congested, non-operational, and starts the actual charging session about 90 seconds sooner than EA…

so please go on deluding yourself that EA is really that much faster.

Does anyone else have the update certificate message and button in the plug and charge settings?

Electric Macan EV Plug & Charge now available for Tesla Superchargers via Porsche Charging Service IMG_0633

A few days ago I saw this in the app. So I went into the car, started it, then hit the update certificate button in the app. But then it just spun saying “certificate installing” for like 48 hours. I checked again today after the announcement came out about Tesla support and saw the “update certificate” button is back. Presumably the first update failed and timed out.

I was curious if anyone else got this message and successfully updated their plug and charge certificate?

I’m not sure what to try next and was planning to call PCNA when I got a chance to see what they say. Or try toggling the Connect Services privacy setting that I think others who had Plug and Charge issues in the past have done.

For Rivian (also Plug and Charge with Tesla), you can. The way to do it is to start the charge on the Tesla app before you plug it in, and then Tesla billing takes over as opposed to Porsche...at least that's how it works for Rivian.

That is the expected maximum at most Tesla SC’s because they are 400v.
