Unless it was a deal to die for I won’t be having another Taycan - the Macan would be a compromise! Test drive next week and if I have to I will stick with what I’ve got for another year or two. Just fed up with not knowing if I can rely on it , boot rattles and 200 mile range in cold weather.
Range is same for all UK J1.1 Taycans - we all know this

Hi I looked at your spec. Looks nice. Are you not interested rear axle steering? I have it and I notice it every time I park.
In the UK the Road Tax regime alters on 1 April so I can only look at already built cars.
I have Rear steering on my 992 but don’t really notice it but then again the Turbo S has it as standard so no way to compare.

If your Taycan has been frustrating, then I say by all means do it and get the Macan.

I'll also soon be making the switch (Taycan to Macan) and my Taycan GTS wasn't even a frustrating ownership experience like yours was. It's been a fantastic car so far and I'm confident the Macan will fare as well, especially with its added utility, smaller footprint, extra ground clearance, and easier ingress/egress compared to the Taycan.

Macan EV is not perfect (check the forum) and has its own share of problems notably software related.

Range is also not spectacular and in UK doubtful if this will get anywhere close to 300 miles. The 4S I borrowed achieved 2.3 miles / kWh only over 126 miles giving a max of 218...will rise come the summer but disappointing to say the least.

2.3 miles is way better than I’ve ever seen on my Taycan! Time will tell .

And here’s my total to date on the Macan4.
far from optimal. Although I have to say I received the car late September and mostly drove it in October onwards - so already cold months. I think my long term Taycan CT average (previous gen) was 22.8kwh / 100km

I think that is about 15% better than my Taycan but totally different driving - I’m assuming yours was very stop start given the low average speed whereas my journey was steady and fairly constant motorway .

Yes - the car had 140 odd miles on it when I picked it up for the weekend so wasn't expecting stellar numbers. Yes it was 2C. The comparison is for this time of year.

The data is for a non-stop drive from Edinburgh to Aberdeen half of which is governed by average speed cameras so speed set to 70 mph for 67 miles. Dual carriage-way 95% of the entire journey and cruise set at 70 mph for all sections. No stop start other than traffic lights and a couple of roundabouts. AC - 23C.

When I handed the car back I suggested to the dealership that they should set range expectations when lending a new EV car with very low miles as it will only lead to a negative outcome / impression otherwise.

I've had a J1.2 4S CT & 4S ST with much higher mileage (last October & 11C) and the consumption then was 2.5 miles / kWh.

All of these numbers are "better" than my GTS ST but the enhanced range (UK specifically given the weather) is mainly attributable to 95kWh net battery and not much else besides. Who would have imagined that??
