gratulation: ppf after no test drive (only explanation for your disappointment with the car), i wish i had this sort of spending money… still extreme. do you have more than 20% tax? no discount ?No with the ppf it was closer to 160 …
21% Tax and I had to negotiate not a raise after mid year model change, typically the price goes up ... so no discount.gratulation: ppf after no test drive (only explanation for your disappointment with the car), i wish i had this sort of spending money… still extreme. do you have more than 20% tax? no discount ?
Early reviews of the iX3 are pretty impressive so far from what i have gathered. Hopefully it doesn't look too polarizing!21% Tax and I had to negotiate not a raise after mid year model change, typically the price goes up ... so no discount.
It's not because I'm disappointed in the range that I'm disappointed overall ... but if the new iX3 is something, I can get one probably for free and some money on top![]()
I never had any issues with my iX and the infotainment Is more elaborate then the Macan it has Apple CarKey and the buttons are big enough you can hit them with accuracy (the climate control of the Macan is way better because of real buttons, but my settings are 20C auto … I never change that), Apple CarPlay never disconnects in the iX and 3 years ago I had one or 2 blackscreens that where resolved after an update, it receives regular updates over the air so I beg to differ. My Macan was over a month out of service for a software error they could not find and finally it was a faulty sound module?! These things happen and are not indicative of widespread problems. In the mean time sales of the Macan not taken off after the initial spike it seems the high is over, the iX has an update making the gap more on range and self driving features are really rivaling tesla’s while the Macan has just a descent adaptive cruise control. Look the Macan drives more agile its a smaller lighter car and I love it for its driving dynamics, but overall the iX is a better car and if the iX3 is going to be what it seems to be, then I will have a hard choice of either swapping it for the Macan or the iX … probably the iX as BMW could over a nice trade in …When we first left Tesla we got the iX before our Macan Turbo. The iX is the worst EV I’ve ever owned. The infotainment sucked but worse was that at 75mph the car went black and came to a dead stop in the middle of the road. They tried to say nothing was wrong with it until we got attorneys involved.
It's not a sole focus, and I agree that it's the overal package that counts ... The faster charging is also under ideal conditionsYves, you seem to have a rather high focus on efficiency and distance, which is fine, yet I prefer looking at it from a overall driving time perspective. Coming from a Tesla MX out of 2019 and also having an iX I also come to the conclusion the Turbo is not as efficient (although it seems to be more efficient above the 160km/h). But frankly, I dont care, it drives a lot better and the charging, simply amazing. 20 minutes from 15 to 80% No way to get that with the iX or MX. So although I may charge a bit more overall I think I get there faster with the Turbo. Oh, and safer, the stopping power of the Turbo is amazing. One would almost start complaining the charging is too fast as my coffee does not get the time to cool down.. 1st world problems![]()
its basically a porsche. While the iX’s software was better, our iX M60 was as much fun driving as a couch. Yet better for those rare times hauling three large passengers in the back. In the end BMW was good to us even though we had done a one-pay lease, they let us return it way earlier than the lease expiration, paid us fair and square for unused months, and were was able to get into our loaded Macan turbo (CPO @ 1,538 miles) at an actually lower monthly lease equivalent — though also did a one-pay on the our Macan.
The Macan is a JOY to drive! As for comparable range, around town doing similar trips the Macan is actually a little better (3.4 miles/kwh instead of 3.3), with interstate mileage being again a slight edge to the Macan. Since houwever driving spiritedly in the Macan is way more enjoyable than the iX, our playful, real range is the reverse, a little less now. But so worth it!!! And with our level 2 charger in our garage, last night as we most often do, we come back from a family visit and did not even charge it; when we do, it is most often (pre road trips excepted) charged to only 75%.
The BMW was a large, very capable, family SUV; the Macon is conversely a thrill even doing local errands. It is a sports car wrapped in a crossover body that brings miles of smiles!
It's not a sole focus, and I agree that it's the overal package that counts ... The faster charging is also under ideal conditionsI've seen as slow a session as the iX ... sometimes it's the car and sometimes is the shared charger ... so Yes I can save 20 to 30 minutes in actual charging time but you loose most of it for the extra stop and gain nothing if the chargers cannot deliver the power. Anyway it's not as dramatic as some of the people tend to read, somehow we always read "negative" comment with a voice that spells doom
I just hope Porsche will fix the software and I hope they can optimize the driving / consumption as well, seem to remember they did something similar with the Taycan ...
Like a said, like the driving dynamics and looks, hate the software and a bit disappointed in the range ...
Hi There, thanks for the sharing, what carscanner is that?Small but meaningful difference the Macan is on 20 inch wheels and the iX on 22’s. I find both guess-0-meters to be on the optimistic side and you can deduct for both around 50km’s of range. Conditions are ideal and the numbers shown are 2/3 to 3/4 of highway km’s At around 120km/h. The Macan is 9 month’s old with around 10k km’s the iX is 3.5 years old with 67Kkm’s
The Macan shows an energy capability of 89kwh in carscanner and the iX shows 101kwh … (think my iX had 105kwh net advertised)
So the battery of the Macan lost more capacity in 6 month’s and all in all maybe 8 DC charging stops. I keep both cars between 20 and 80% …
I love the Macan, but on road trips I would take the iX …
Usually when people say Carscanner, it refers to the cell phone app of that name that people use to get vehicle data via an OBD2 device. You can get a cheap (<$20) OB2 device off Amazon and install the free Carscanner phone app to see the internal car data.Hi There, thanks for the sharing, what carscanner is that?
