I love my Macan EV but the set-up of the car key is terrible. Specifically why is the button to open the car doors the 2nd from the top rather than the top button, just as it is in the Taycan. When the key is in my pocket it is so easy to open my Taycan because it is the very first button. But with the Macan I often open the frunk by mistake. It is much trickier to find BY FEEL the 2nd button rather than the top first button.

So, why can we not purchase a Taycan car key and program it for the Macan?

Any electronic experts out there know if this should be technically possible? If technically possible Iā€™ll then contact Porsche to get it done. Thank you.

i only carry the key on me but have it setup so when i walk close to the car it unlocks itself. and when leaving the car it locks also. So no need really for any keypress. Even the trunk opens / closes nice with the foot movement.

yeah, tha'ts how i work...rarely do i need to actually lock or unlock...it's set up to do it automatically based on my proximity to the car... That being said, the only other uses would be for the trunk or frunk....which the buttons being at the ends of the remote, make it easy to press in my pocket through my clothes....
So they Porsche might have just thought a step ahead of everyone on this....
however, i think they should have put buttons on the side instead 4 in a row. Maybe 2 on face, and two on side.
My wifes Kia has like 7 buttons hers! ...but 4 are along a ridge, and 3 are on the face.

No Comfort Access, no need to push any button to unlock or lock?

the Macan uses UWB for signaling. Does the Taycan use this latest tech ?
