Can you do everything on it that a can be done on the drivers screen?

Trying to decide if it's worth the $1500 price tag

It came with our CPO car but, and of course every passenger usage of it or not is dfferent, we would not be ordering it on our next Macan EV. For some however, especially if the passenger wants to watch YT videos, pursue specialized apps, etc, it would be worth $1,500 to them.

For me the only use would be on long, complex road trips where you actively want a co-driver to deal with directions, keep an eye out for hazards etc., and the angle of the screen made their life easier than peering across to the main screen.

Everything else, tell the passenger to bring their own iPad. YMMV.

I thought for road trips it would be nice to have the passenger enter/monitor that stuff. Still not sure it's worth the $1500

Also, keep in mind, there is no facility for passenger to listen to it alone by using an earpiece.

I agree on the consensus that this is a rather useless feature. Save the money and put it towards something else.

You can not even use it in conjunction with headphones so unless the driver wants to hear your Youtube videos it is not even useful for that. The codriver can also easily use the middle display as it is quite central and not geared too much towards the driver. It is a nice feature to impress your neighbor for 2min though :)

came on mine- and it is (sadly) a joke.

It has exactly 1 screen that cannot be displayed on the center screen, showing a compass and speedometer.

I'd much rather spend that on rear wheel steering, or torque vectoring, and get the passenger an ipad (-:

As we learned from Dave, the compass and also the altimeter can be displayed on the driver’s right hand most circular info pod. My pod is now set up to display both. Speaking of options that may not be needed on our next Macan EV, as a result and since we do not track nor need Sports Plus mode, avoiding the top of dash center pod would also save either $980 for “Sport Chrono” or $430” for the “Compass Display.”

Fun, but not essential, for the passenger to have something to do on a 600 mile drive this month. Easier to play around with Sirius, etc on one screen and use navigation on another screen to look for points of interest or charge stations. I would miss it as much as I would miss HUD once you are used to it. These are the "toys" including rear wheel steering that make the car a little more special.

I have it on Taycan and spec’d it for the Macan. It looks cool but really required? Probably not.
What’s handy is that you can have the passenger manage the navigation. I hate it that when in motion, you can’t use the keyboard but you can swipe your letters. CarPlay isn’t accessible on the passenger screen which makes no sense when needing to use Waze or Google or even audio functions other than to skip to next track.

For me, Porsche's implementation of the passenger display was not worth it.

The only way it would've been worth it was if the passenger had the ability to pair a 2nd iPhone via Carplay with the passenger display, as well as some audio via bluetooth to headphones or airPods, concurrently but independently of the main display where the driver could have their own device paired with Carplay for nav, apps, and music to the car's audio system. But sadly, this is not how it works.

IMO, the current implementation of passenger display is next to useless, beyond just being eye-candy, and in the case of the Macan EV, will cost you the omission of the dash trim. In my case, I preferred to retain the carbon fiber dash trim over a minimally-functional extra display.

This is the one option I would not get if I had a do-over. It’s cool and all, but really not particularly useful for me because I don’t take the car on road trips. My wife doesn’t like to mess with it, and my 11yo son just wants to play games on it (which results in game sound being piped into the rest of the car - games cannot be played silently while other (my) music is playing). When my best friend is in the car, he likes to DJ, which is useful, so I can concentrate on the road. But, as far as I can tell, there’s nothing of value that gets done on the second screen that could not be done on the primary screen, so . . . I do NOT recommend getting it.
