It was three weeks to the right coast, a 4 day delay caused by North Atlantic weather and a two day stop over to unload in Canada.. Usually a nonstop ship takes two weeks.. from Germany to Dealer

tommjw - glad to see they brought it forward. I’m first one out tomorrow as well. They fitted my tracker 10 days ago so I’ve had to suffer the agony of seeing the car there but not taking it until the new reg.

My guy has got 5 handovers tomorrow, he allows 2 hours for each so a long day. They have charged it to 90% so plenty of range for a first day drive. As it’s been there so long they set it all up when it was delivered and they tell me they regularly checked there were no warnings or gremlins.

My 4S arrived to Sydney and then sat for three weeks with the dealer as they struggled with the software updates. Then they said it was ready to collect, I did accept delivery and two days later and only 100km of travel, my car has been with the dealer for a week now and they cannot pinpoint the issues — it’s not connecting to the profile in the My Porsche app. What a f&u^*+= mess, do they even know what they are doing? Both in Germany and in Australia … aaarrrrgggghhhhh bunch of idiots

Thanks - I’m just on my way there now! Hope yours go smoothly as well. I got all mine added on Tuesday so have suffered the same agonising view of the car in the app!

I think they’re trying to get as many out as possible for me as they said the handover will be about an hour.

tommjw - I hope your handover went as smoothly as mine.

They had 12 Macan EV’s and a 911 GT3 being handed over today. I was the first and so was away before the crowd. The car was in excellent condition, charging flaps fully aligned and no gremlins or warnings. The dealer has a ‘tech guru’ and he made me aware of 2 very minor things - the nav for some reason showed the speed limit at 60 mph rather than 70 mph on a stretch of the A12 and as posted on here many times, the Plug & Charge was greyed out. I’m not fussed about that as I already have the Porsche charging RFID card and can use the App. He tells me Porsche are aware of these probs.

I think the car was charged to 95% and after 90 miles at mostly 70 mph the remaining range is 190, which is circa 300 miles in lowish temperatures. The tech guy told me that the range will increase after about 2k - the same as others have said on here.

I noticed the tyres are at 43 psi which I believe is for fully loaded so I’ll reduce them to 36 psi And see if the ride softens a bit.

Interestingly, I asked the tech guy about setting Battery Conservation and only charging to 80% - he said Porsche are very conservative about degradation so recommend effectively increasing the battery headroom by adopting that, but he believes this is unnecessary if the majority of charging is on AC, which mine is. I’ve plugged mine in but it’s not charging as I have scheduled the Simpson to start a charge at 12:00 so I get the EV tariff of 7p / kw.

Having read about all of the issues others on here have had on collection, I wonder if Porsche have rectified them as I said, absolutely nothing on my car - early days !

the Plug & Charge was greyed out. I’m not fussed about that as I already have the Porsche charging RFID card and can use the App. He tells me Porsche are aware of these probs.

Besides, once plugged in, I notice P&C takes time to get going. Much faster just to touch RFID card or key fob.
By the way, did they give you a complimentary RFID key fob?

No fob - My card was posted direct from Porsche, no involvement of the dealer. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the tracker ‘fob’. Having read complaints that they were far too large, I wonder if they revised them. Mine is slim enough to slip into my wallet and it’s smaller than the Tracker UK one I had for my previous car.

I got 2 keys, 2 manual keys, I Porsche key ring, a silver business card holder and a glass framed photo of the car. They included a ‘thanks for the business card’ and an invite to arrange a ‘masterclass with their tech Guru’. I previously got my invite to a Porsche Experience day.

Of all the new cars I have had handed over in the past, today was by far the best experience. I’m not a great coffee drinker but I did smile when they served me one as soon as I sat down -

When I got in the car this morning the P&C option was no longer greyed out. I turned it on and when back home requested a certificate in the App - it said request sent. Less than an hour later it said the Certificate had been installed so I’m going to try to see if it works ok by going to a Fastned site near home.

My well research plan for charging between midnight and seven wasn’t that well researched. I plugged the car in and it started to charge straight away. I turned the charger off and I think that is where it all went wrong - I was letting the Simpson charger take ‘charge’ and not the car. Today, I disconnected and reconnected and had the charger set to override and car charged at 7kw. I have now deleted all departures etc and set up a new one for 7am with a location and start at 12:00 and finish by 7:00. I’ll see if that has worked tomorrow morning.

Picked mine up yesterday - very similar experience to Wivenhoe. Charging flap alignment not an issue and told not to worry too much about limiting to 80% on battery. Car was charged to 100%.

Handover was spot on!

Since then however have developed an issue where the reversing camera doesn’t work. have tried soft resetting the car but will no doubt have to call Porsche tomorrow to sort.

We collected ou Macan 4 today in Leeds and drove 254 miles home, with a lunch stop at Gloucester services - decided to charge to be on the safe side and the car went from 25% to 80% in under 20 mins and quicker than we ate lunch!
The drive - all bar 4 miles was motorway and the Automatic cruise control with auto lane keeping assist was phenomenal as was the HUD.
Have to say I’m smitten at present

Collected today…

Only got the one picture so far.

Everything seems to be working fine. Charging flaps looked pretty flush, wiper jets going where they are supposed to etc. Only thing I was a bit disappointed by was a lot of scratches on the bonnet visible under the showroom lights.

May have given my wife and her Dad whiplash once we got out of the central London crawl when I stamped my foot fully down. Averaging 2.9mi/kWh so far.

I’m having a nightmare today, received news via Tusker that my car was going through final delivery checks two weeks ago. Notified earlier last week that delivery is arranged to me on 17th March, so all excited took the week off work. Today received a call from Porsche Reading saying sorry, there’s been a mistake and your car didn’t make it off the boat, it’s currently heading back to Germany, new ETA 4th April.
I’ve never heard anything like it to be honest, a total farce in communication between Porsche and Tusker, but on the plus side, it’s a week off work at least!

That's a shame you missed the boat.
I guess, that also means you are going to fall into higher band when extra taxes kick in on 1st April.
Vis-à-vis road tax & expensive car tax.
You should negotiate a discount with them.
