Did you connect with [email protected] to get this confirmed?
At least from my past interactions, they seem to listen and good suggestions.
No, I was in contact with Customer Care of Porsche. Well, I raised it that I would love to see the charging planner improvements. They told me that it is „technically not possible“ (which is bullshit) and won’t happen. They also recommended me to use the App instead which I find hilarious. Sure, one can use the App to filter and plan a trip but good luck not having the car forget that. They did confirm they know about problems when using the App though.

Sales reps and Local Staff tend not be best informed. I had great feedbacks so far from the globalised Porsche Smartmobility team and have provided feedback which apparently went to the core of the development team. I doubt that local reps will collect feedback and provide them back to HQ. We ma be more effective if we use those channels, Porsche provides us with.

I can confirm the professionalism and helpfulness of the SMARTMOBILITY Team.
Howewer hard to believe that Porsche will leave us 24/25 MJ in the digital dust. Maybe a collective action would be adequate to raise the issue to the very top

I agree - we should all send the same request email - and check their responses. In addition, contact the Macan EV development lead.

Well I contacted the heads of PR for the electric Taycan & Macan globally (the one that appeared in the car maniac video) and got forwarded to customer care. I was not talking about local sales from my PZ.

But happy to contact their development lead as well, I just dont think it helps. It does not even help that many initial Taycan customers arent buying Taycans anymore (the facelift sells significantly worse, the amount of issues and desaster in Software updates might not have helped). Porsche rather blames this on people wanting Gas cars instead…

My next daily will probably just be another BMW again…but this strongly depends how they will leave the MY25 cars in the next couple of months. If the recent „big“ update is the last one and we won‘t even get all the tiny bugs fully fixed this will definitely be my last electric Porsche.

It's a tough one, I looked at the GTS and really like the subtle changes. In a world that has been significantly shaped by the iPhone, most of us expect free GUI upgrades (not necessarily functionality, but improved usability and reliability) over a certain period of time. Some of these changes for sure can be and should be implemented for MY24 and 25.

Early adopters of electric cars got burned by unprecedented depreciation due to significant improvements in battery improvements. Either brands keep older EV models more desirable or buyers will postpone purchasing new EV cars. 50% depreciation in 3 years is just not sustainable.

This is an interesting observation - that sales are dropping because simply there are too many alarming stories of issues and people having bad service experience. Look at how many customers report having the heater replaced and often multiple times. I think people who are in the position to buy these cars lost confidence in this platform and that's why sales are tanking. Because otherwise Taycan is simply the best EV car you can buy at the moment by far, nothing else comes even close to how it drives.

I can tell you from my experience. Currently looking for a replacement for my faulty Macan, I was all set for the new Taycan J1.2 CT untill my loaner/demo car died on my driveway and had to be transported to the dealer. J1.2 model so after the facelift. This is absurd. I asked my SA if switching to Taycan should solve my reliability issues and he was like "what can I tell you...".

I think the same is bound to happen to the Macan - just look at the Audi Q6 forums, they are riddled with serious problems. This is the same platform as Macan just more cars sold. People are talking about the same problems as here - mainly the software sucks, car is half baked, there is no OTA and VW is way behind.

At the end - what is the point of having a cluster replaced with a screen if not for the ability to update the functionality? People are used to having updates for everything with a screen, heck my TV and fridge get updates. So you can argue all you want Porsche is not about software but in the end it's not where the market is going and I bet even Porsche customers start to expect this.

Exactly. Ask yourself why Taycan has much depreciation. Some argue the base price is too high but this car has not received any updates over the years and this also contributes to low residual value. Porsche in general is a brand that cares about residuals, hence no agresive discounts on new cars. OTA is one way to make sure the car stays relevant, fresh and attractive for longer.

I assume all software engineers are currently working "hard" to get the software for the curved display over the finishing line. They will keep on beating the dead horse (sorry, wrong phrase as this software platform was never really alive) until joint venture with Rivian bears fruits.

These features can't be hard to copy between model year SW variants. My guess is that Porsche just wants to avoid the extra testing and the update campaign.
