Macan Turbo Electric ordered!

Went test drive a Macan GTS this weekend, wanted to get a feel for handling - understanding that the EV will handle quite differently.

Chatting with the sales guy, I asked about the maintenance routine on a Porsche EV. Commented that I did my annual visit a few months ago for my MME and that they just rotated the tires, that was it.

He enthusiastically confirmed there was pretty much nothing to do on Porsche cars as well, it was quick inspections and rotating tires on the Taycans and likely same for Macans.

I asked what to expect in terms of pricing and he said without flinching “oh it’s around $1k for the first and maybe $2k for the following one”. For a quick inspection and tires rotation?

Now I know why the dealership owner purchased the one fully spec’ed 911 Dakar they received last year. 🫠

Guess they try to make up the money that you saved not buying their outrageous add on packages at buy time.

The Taycan's servicing is every two years, in Europe at least. Why do you need to do it every year?

Every 2 years or 30000km in Italy (and for me it is the second case, as for all the cars I have owned)

My Taycan 2year service was around 600 euros when I did it. I don't expect the Macan to be any different.

And as far as I know there's no rotating tires on Taycan or Macan. Not a thing.

I cannot speak about Macan EV service intervals but cannot see it being any different from Taycan.
The dealer will make their money on service one way or another, so do not be fooled.

Taycan's first interval is 2 years or 20k miles and involves a multi-point inspection, brake fluid flush, cabin filter replacement, and wipers. The dealer sets much higher hourly rate for Taycan so they can charge $800 multi-point, then $300 for brake fluid flush, $150 for filter that easy to do yourself (gets really dirty in about 5k miles), and wipers who knows, also they now change remote batteries without asking and charge for that. Therefore, $1,000-$1,200 for the first service has been the norm. I cannot see any tires being rotated as they are all staggered, but tires need to be checked for uneven wear, which is very common, and if the alignment is out, then on the Taycan my dealer quoted $200 for alignment check and $800-$1,000 for alignment to be completed that takes all day to do.
