IMHO , it's a gadget..
Before the Macan EV came out, Porsche announced that the extra boost power would be available with each quick down of the ""gas"" pedal, this was not the case ....

The " push to pass" button of my old ICE Macan S , and of the J2 Taycan worth it

Agreed, you’ll use it 5-10 times in the life of the car, and EVs are powerful enough without it, but 3.1 seconds looks good on the website 😀

Although I didn’t like the kick down mode on the ICE Macan, I was never sure if it was on or off when putting my foot down.

Trivially, in our country, it's whoever has the biggest ...

It was a button on the steering wheel , not only a kick down mode.

Oh right I thought you referred to the kick down, I remember the power button as well. Useful from time to time, but not as much on an EV. My reflex was to switch to sport mode and keep it, which is probably why they removed it? Also for cost-saving I assume. The new button looks cheaper.

PS: I’m French as well 👋
